Can you operate the switch at any time, I used to have boats with Slient Choice, and it was not recommended to switch from open to closed at anything above about 3k rpm. thanks

The switch can operate at any time there is no restrictions. Also if it is factory without the speed hack then the car will go silent over 30mph and go loud at 40mph(?) so who knows what rev range you are in or what gear. The system is not that intelligent.
