Just installed KN Intake kit, noticeable diff!

FINALLY, got some time to spend up close and personal with my pcar since buying her a few weeks ago.

I have a good friend of mine who has 30+ years of experience working on pcars and has a shop over in Lawndale (sorry guys he's only building and working on custom Harleys now, but if you have a Harley you definitely want to check him out- Lawndale Cycle - , he's probably one of the best custom Harley mechanics around- His bike is SICK).

Popped down to his shop for the day to have him give the car a good looking-over, change oil, and install the KN intake kit.

Took about 2 hours to install that intake kit... man that kit is a freaking science project! lots of little screws, nuts, and other pieces to assemble for the body of the kit. that is the hardest part, once it is assembled it goes in quite easy. I was PISSED that I forgot my camera so no shots of the install, apologies!

I definitely noticed a reasonable improvement on hp/pull and overall response. The added sound is very nice (now it's beginning to sound like a Porsche!), and no added roughness to idle. Took 2 blocks for the car to get adjusted to the intake, and yes I did reset the computer before starting the car with the new intake. No CEL.

Anyway, I think it was a good upgrade and I'm pleased with the results- Now on to get the GIAC software and choose an exhaust.

Also managed to squeeze in installing a set of aluminum pedals and gauge rings.
All in all, a very good day- Now I'm off to Santa Monica w/ the GF to grab some late din-din, cruise a bit and put some miles on that intake

EDIT: Added a pic, it is still working great- Man I HAVE to get an exhaust and GIAC..

Yeah- When you put your foot in it it just screams, nice throaty sound.
The "sidewalk test" shows all heads turning when I zip by...

When you are cruising or at idle you don't even know it's there.
I LIKE it!

Will post a pic of the installed intake this week.

will do- I am installing a Kenwood double-din NAV/DVD unit this weekend and plan on taking quite a few pics.

Oddly, and what I did not expect (but am pleased obviously), my pcar idle is smoother now with the KN vs. the stock box.
There was always a very very slight roughness to the idle but since installing the KN it's smooth as silk.
