PSS9 Installed! NOT! The April Fool's joke was on me.

So, I take yesterday off to drop the car at AWE-Tuning to have the PSS9's installed. The morning started off very wrong when my wife, who was following me in her ML320, hits this very big rock and blows out the right front tire. The sidewall had a rip I could put my hand through. My wife was mildly shaken but she and our kids were okay. I changed the tire under a steady drizzle and 20 minutes later, we drive back home to take my Audi S4 instead.

We get to AWE, drop the car off, and head off of to enjoy the day with the kids. Around noon, I receive a call from Mike@AWE. Hmmm, they cannot be finished already, it must be a problem. Sure enough, Mike tells me they completed the Tech Inspection but when the they opened the PSS9 box, they found 4 shocks - all for the front! Great. I try not to let the news ruin the rest of the day. We pick up the 996 later and head home.

I call Performance Products to sort this out. They ask for the serial numbers to pass on to Bilstein. I am still waiting to hear back.

Lessons learned:
1) For my wife: Big rocks win most of the time. It is best to avoid them.
2) PSS9's allow for a maximum of -1.75ยบ camber up front.
3) Inspect product deliveries before scheduling installation.

Oh well, I was looking forward to this Sunday's drive with the new suspenders.

that sucks about the shocks. but good to hear that the wife and kids were safe, so that definitely makes up for everything.

One more lesson, Bilstein support sucks!

It took me calling every day for 3 weeks to get them to turn around a replacement shock for me.

Yep, I called Bilstein on Friday to see if they could help since AWE says could get the parts in 5 days. They said I had to deal directly w/ Perf. Prods. I'll give them until next week.
