996 Purchase - Advice?

I am moving up to a 996 from a Boxster.
Looking at a 2000 C4 - Milennium Model - fully loded w/navigation PSM, heated seat , HID lights, 18 Inch wheels, full leather, many more options..... 40K miles, all records
Window sticker of $89k
Dealer wants $46k, I am looking at 42-43k max
What do you guys think?
There is still a few months left on warranty. Assuming PPI comes back OK.

The price doesn't sound too bad, but if it is from a Porsche dealer, I would tell them that you want the car certified, i.e., additional 2 years up to 100K in miles. They should be able to do this.

sounds like a great price. don't think they will give you an extended warranty.

If it is a Porsche dealer, I don't know why they wouldn't. It's still within its original warranty period and they are still certifying 2000 model years cars according to the PCNA website, i.e., you can still find MY2000 cars listed as certified. However, if it is a Porsche dealer and they tell you that they can't certify the car, I would be VERY concerned that they have found something which will not allow it to pass the certification process.

Lastly, I would expect to pay a little more as thsy have to pay Porsche about $1,500 for each certified car, but that is cheap insurance for piece of mind.

DaveMo is correct, you must get it certified. You may have to pay more but is worth it.

Question

Hi Guys:
It's not a Porsche Dealer. It's hi-line independant. Anybody know a PPI place in Cincinnati?

I was told at one of our Atl dealers Porsche will not sell used Porsches that are not able to be Certified. The Certified warranty is available for $1600.00.

You could probably get your PPI done at Beechmont Porsche.
