Elise vs. C2 track time

Saw this link on another forum I read and went over to read the Elise posts regarding the C2 vs. the Elise.

It claims that the Elise is 5 seconds faster than a PDE C2 around the track. Pretty significant on an under 2 min. lap.

It seems as if the Elise folks are getting incredibly uppity about this. I'm kinda suprised since Barber has a good amount of straight aways through which the 911 should easily pounce on the Elise simply due to a matter of power.

Overall kinda suprised though.

Barber is very small. I don't care how short you gearing is, it's not short enough for Barber. It's a track made for the Lotus (That's why they chose it for the launch). On small tracks, the Lotus will take it, the larger the track, the slower the Lotus will be. Keep in mind that on the ring a stock C2 is 25 seconds (yes, that's 25, not 2.5) per lap faster than the stock Exige which should be about the same as the new Elise (source: www.track-challenge.com).

On Road Atlanta, I would expect a stock Elise and a C2 with Sport suspension to be very close.

Roy

ps. I say that as a past owner of an Elise Sport 190 and an track Exige both of which are faster than the Fed Elise.

i went to Barber in Aug last year. Porsche uses for PDE. a faster car is a faster car, no excuse!

in Barber, GT3 is also faster than GT2.
