HELP! (w/ B&M shifter and EVO link)

In the middle of the install. It appears that the evo shift link will not work with the B&M short shifter. Where the link attaches to the ball on the bottom of the shifter is too tall and hits the carpet on the trans tunnel. It appears that you can hack saw the link a little shorter and should work??? Any help appreciated...

I've personally installed 3 short shift kits w/ the evo shift linkage and never had a problem with it bumping the carpet. Are you certain that you got the correct part(s)?

part of the recommended tool to do the install is a rubber mallet... grease the ball up and hammer that linkage in!!

Just back from vacation, on the job again. Here are some pics of the install. If you notice, the link will not go further up the shaft because it bottoms out on the shoulder and cant go any higher. Therefore, the bottom of the link hits the carpet and wont sit flush with the bottom of the plastic shifter housing. Maybe I have the wrong part??? Yes, I have called and e-mailed evoms, no response. Hopefully someone can help...

Yes to what Redridge said.

You are trying to combine the Evo swift/short shift with the B&M. Never seen anyone try that combination.

The red thing is the Evo shift link. I have also put the Evo shift link on a B&M with no problem.

For the time being just reuse your black plastic cable connector.

D,
Redridge is correct. Based on your pix, the link you have looks incorrect. Once you have the correct link, that combination will work very nicely. May be a bit notchy but you'll love after getting used to it. FYI, recently drove Luis's GT3 he has the B&M SSK w/stock link, felt good not quite as notchy as your combo will be.
Good luck.
