Alarm

hi,
so i own a `99 and lately i've come to notice that whenever i lock the car [i don't do that often since i always park it inside a garage] a red flickering light is lit on the dashboard

now, i am aware of a similar red light that is near the radio, but this one i have just noticed !
i read the manual, it says it's something to do with an alarm
however my question is: is this normal with all of you guys? did i just notice it?
or is it something that indicates something?

it's normal. Mine flashes whenever I press the remote button and then flashes on and off when the alarm is armed.
