I need education about new wheels

I have always use EOM wheels, but I am considering new wheels and I am confused.
In reviewing the pics of porsches with new wheels (such as HRE 540) it appears that the tires are farther from the center of the car (ie offset), are the tires in fact offset and does this affect the ride, handling etc?

thanks

lots and lots of posts on this topic, i would refer you to the wheel section at the bottom of the forum board menu. and yes, most of the aftermarket 18s and 19s are 10"=11" wheel sizes in the rear with a lesser offset (pushes the wheel/tire out) than those of most stock/OEM wheels.

do a search on "offset" and "wheels" and you'll be amazed as to what has been written.

regards and best of luck
