Question - Why did you buy a Porsche?

Just curious as to why people buy Porsches. What is your reason?

I bought my C4 because I always liked Porsche as a kid and I thought my buddies dad's 930 back in the day was soooo cool; black on black. I am half German so I guess I have a built-in need for a German ride. The 911 lines are timeless and always have time for a sports car!

I am assuming those of you with families have another car/suv

Always loved the sound of a Porsche...a guy on my block had a 911 Targa when I was a kid and I LOVED the way it sounded and looked....My brother raced SCCA cars and I LOVED watching the 935 and 962 trounce everyone...then I rode in my brothers 911 and I KNEW I needed one....I needed to buy an inexpensive commuter car....I convinced her that a 97 Boxster at $24k was the perfect car....after 2 years of driving that one, she gave me the go ahead to get a newer, bigger car...Got the C4 Cab, and have loved everyday I have driven it.

I've always loved the way porsche looked and wanted one since I was a kid (plus rear engine and rear drive makes it that much better).

Another reason was that I saw the Porsche in one of the car magazines. I was born and raised in Russia, and it was sort of like an idol. No one in my family besides me and my mother has ever graduated from college (and I'm the first in America to do so), and the Porshe represents all I strugled to achieve.
