FabSpeed Intake

Hi All, I'm a new owner of a my first Porsche, a 2000 996 C4. Bought the car in March and absolutely LOVE IT! I've wanted a 911 since I was about 12 and found a creampuff of a car with about 20K miles and looked like it just rolled off the showroom floor. My question is, does anyone have the Fabspeed intake on their 996? Is it worth it? I know intakes are tricky some are worth the money others are not. Just curious, any input would be great. Thanks!!!

Save your money.
But ,if you think replacing the ~ 6" long black factory rubber elbow
with a 6" long red one will result in more power, go for it .
(btw, Schnell sells the same red elbow for 1/2 of what Fabspeed charges ) Lol

I dont know about the
Fabspeed intake, but I really like my Evo Vflow....intake. I was skeptacle at first but it works so much better than the restrictive stock system. It added just enough bark wiith the increased noise and teamed up with the RSS Plenum, it has more *****. I could not be happier on a stock 996 daily driver. I even get better fuel mileage

I'm totally digging on the KN intake. Not expensive and adds a really nice growl.

congrats on your new ride- now stop slacking and post some pics!!

check out k&n and evo. fabspeed makes wonderful exhausts but many board members believe that their intake leaves something to be desired compared to k&n and evo.

What kinds of gains would I expect from a K&N or evo kit to the wheels?

I'll sell you the $200 fabspeed CAI "kit" for $50. The "kit" includes the red silicon elbow, a fabspeed sticker and a cardboard box. I still can't believe I wasted $200 but for $50 not a bad product.

Not much from the KN that I saw, but I never expect an air intake to make much of a diff.. The sound alone was worth the purchase.

+1 on the elbow...

...I will say the filter will make a quick difference in the butt dyno and sound. About $100.

I was happy I added one. Capping off the premuffler added some sound which I needed on my 1999. Adding the BMC airfilter to stock box, or K&N type will make a bigger performance impact IMHO. Be advised that once you start tweaking, it is difficult to stop!

The resonator is not a "pre-muffler".
And you would get the same sound increase at the lower RPM's if you just cap off the resonator outlet .
