Just wondering if anyone has added an aftermarket alarm to their vehicles? If so what kind? I was thinking about having a compustar added to mine because I like the added feature of having a pager that tells you when your car is being bumped/opened etc.

In conjuction with that I know the compustar comes with a auto command starter. Is it bad to install one of these? Does it do any damage to the engine/transmission/starter etc?

I have a Viper that pages you for any violation and for an added monthly fee you can monitor your car i.e. unlock doors, set a 1 foot barrier around the car if it moves, shut the car off if someone steals it, determine exact location of your car and it's speed, thru your own computer. Yes you can add auto start but not recommended if manuel transmission. The alarm pretty much is state of the art.

 

I've got LoJack and the LoJack Early Warning System. If the car moves, it sends notifies a device on my key chain.
