I decided to swap my steering wheel yesterday and after reading the posts and instructions here and on renntech.org I thought I was good to go. Everything went smooth until I went to pull the current steering wheel off. For some unknown reason the airbag spring unit (I think that's what its called) just came unraveled ....I had to tug on the steering wheel, but I don't think I tugged that hard . I did all I could to not freak out, but it wasn't looking good.

I re-wrapped the unraveled part and it just clicked in. Lined up the tabs and the silver clip . Put the new steering wheel in and I thought I was good to go. No airbag light.

Test drive ok, but the steering wheel seemed a little tight in tight corners. As I was pulling into the garage, I heard a click (not real loud), and the airbag light came on.

Now what? Any advice would be appreciated

Did I really f$%# this up?
