3.4L Engine and transmission rebuild

You need a new wiring harness, pedal cluster, computers along with the motor. These cars are very complex from an electrical standpoint. I'm sure someone can do it, but do you really want to $50K conversion. I haven't heard from anyone on the board that actually owns one.
Come to think of it....I think I have heard of Boxsters going to 3.4L....I think they were able to adapt it much easier....non e-gas to 3.6L or 3.8L may not be cost effective....
Since this thread is so old there have been a few new developments. Rook now offers swaps and there have been several people here and on other forums that have had successful 3.4- to 3.6 swaps which over came the issues of E-Gas and the vario cam +. Also, Flat Six Innovations and L & N Engineering offer boring options to take your 3.4 bigger while strengthening some of the weak spots of our M96 motors.
