I would just buy a new 3.6 or X51 but thats my 2cents.

for a lot less $$$ somebody could buy my 3.4 & trans...15K on the motor, 36K on the trans.

Since this thread is so old there have been a few new developments. Rook now offers swaps and there have been several people here and on other forums that have had successful 3.4- to 3.6 swaps which over came the issues of E-Gas and the vario cam +. Also, Flat Six Innovations and L & N Engineering offer boring options to take your 3.4 bigger while strengthening some of the weak spots of our M96 motors.
