New modifications done to my C2

I have a new radio installed its a Pioneer Z2 with custom made subwoofer boxes for the rear floor. The boxes were custom made with Pionner low profile 10 in subwoofers. I also removed and had the center console painted. I will also post the custom ipod video dock that is build into the ashtray in the center console. There is also another IPod conector just for music in the rear compartement in the center console. That one is just for music.

Here is what I paid for the work
Pioneer Avic-z2 $1600
Custom made sub boxes with woofers $500.
Profile 2-channel car amplifier 1200 watts RMS x 2 $150
Painted center console including cd holder and A/C controler $450
Custom ipod dock to play Ipod video on monitor including the non smoker tray. $300

valmeida, I had a couple of questions. I have a AVIC Z1, how did you get your unit to play ipod videos? What cables are you using? Another question is, how did you display that wallpaper on the unit? I didn't know they can do that.

Nice set up for sure. How does it sound?

Can you let us know who made the boxes, and can they be purchased

Thanks Mark

They sound awsome. I get some nice clean bass out of them. The price was $500 for both boxes including the subwoofers and $150 for the amp to drive them. I had gone to aleast 15 different places and I got quotes form 1200 to 2k to build me 2 boxes. If you are interested send me a pin.

Tks

Vick

a lot of yellow in the center console but over all...very nice and clean. I would love to hear those subs in person. Nice job!

I agree, all that yellow looks great. As someone who used to do custom car audio, I wanted to make a humble suggestion. You have such a beautiful car and got a great head unit and a custom install, but I would suggest investing in a higher quality speaker/amp. The Pioneers (10"s?) will probably be loud enough since they are in the cabin, however a higher quality sub will give you a much cleaner sound. And the Profile Amp, is one of the lower quality amps on the market, no way will it sustain 1200 watts RMS for any period of time. The way you have it setup, I'm guessing each sub runs off of one channel, as opposed to bridging the amp and running both subs through one channel? Also, I would have asked the installed to lower the box height an inch or two, below the lip of the seat. If the dimensions are too small he can add polyfill to dampen the movement and work in a smaller dimension box.

Like I said, I hope you don't take this as criticism. I just want you to be getting the most out of such a great setup. The boxes look sealed to me, which normally looks for a tight clean sound for electronic, rock/alternative music as opposed to a "boomier" sound in hip/hop. I hope this helps a little bit. If not, I apologize.

install looks good but exactly what TrojanS said, that profile amp has got to go along with the subs and boxes. not feeling the sub boxes at all, kinda just looks "slapped" together IMO. could have gone a little more custom since you went this far.

props though on the ipod mount in the ashtray. thats hott

+1... those look like generic truck boxes, sorry, it just does not 'fit'

the rest of the car / install looks super great!
