See I was lucky..I knew how it was gonna look before I did it...like I said I copied the GMG cars. They always use blue on the silver cars. If you have the film lying around and its not going to cost you...maybe just do it...and see. or maybe do a image search of the Porsche Cup cars etc...and see what the factory race cars that are yellow use. I seem to remember they do use yellow...and maybe do use blue...soo...sorry I am not much help...I am sure there are pics of Porsche race cars in yellow with headlight tint on them...take a look and see if they look good.
Maybe a light smoke would look cool? Since you have the blacked out wheels...maybe a smoked headlight would really look evil! Just thinking outloud! Good luck!

I think the 99-01 and Boxster headlights are pretty sensitive...when I had my Boxster it was VERY common for Boxster guys using the white bulbs to melt their headlights....simply using a brighter bulb even though it may have been rated the same caused the plastic to melt and bubble....so adding film would prevent heat dissipation and COULD cause your headlights to melt....but its your car.....Porsche race cars and porsche street cars are TWO ENTIRELY different things.....you dont know the wattage of bulb, if its film over stock headlights, or if its simply a yellow cover...I cant imagine race cars using the stock headlights when they dont need high beams, turns signals or fog lights, so I am 99.9% sure they are just using the same shaped lens and that can be yellow plastic...
I am a distributor for this products and use it on all of my cars and full build customer cars. As long as you buy the genuine products the stuff is great and eliminates ugly headlight pitting not to mention broken expensive headlight lenses. Regarding color the blue has never been a problem as long as it is optic blue and not darker, the yellow on the other hand can be a little to yellow if not used this HID's. The red is a definite no no on headlights and of coarse clear is always legal
*If anyone else has any questions pm me and I will be happy give you any information you need.

anyways...regarding the law here in CA...you can ONLY use YELLOW film on your headlights legally. Everything else is ILLEGAL. no Blue or Red...etc...so I am taking a chance everytime I take it out. But...so far no hassles and I dont have a front plate. YELLOW you are good...but any other color you are pretty much breaking the law.

hello!
does anyone have any pictures of the smoke tint on their headlights? i'd love to see how it looks!
we bought some of the pvc tint but it has not arrived yet. our goal was to try and cover some of the orange on the oem headlights w/out buying $1300 worth of new ones. we replaced the corner piece, but there is still that middle orange piece. Also, we have aftermarket zenon's on our 996. hopefully, this won't cause a problem.
thanks!

CARJOE!
THANKS! that's exactly what I was hoping to see! It DOES look good! Well, I think we made a good choice. We were thinking of having them smoke painted, but then thought, if we ever changed out minds, we were stuck with them. The tint film is a good price alternative w/out the brand new lights. Plus, if you get sick of it, you can take it off!
Thanks so much for posting the picture! I really appreciate it! BTW...beautiful p-car!
