One day Off, 3 Great Rides

This week, I decided to take one week day off in the middle of a business trip to explore a few of the rides that had been recommended here and in other web sites.
In one day I was able to explore these three rides:
1. US-221 from Blowing Rock to Pineola in NC
2. Tail of the Dragon (Rt. 129) between NC and TN
3. Cherohala Skyway between NC-TN
Each of these turned out to be truly fantastic drives. First, maybe because it was a week day, these roads were basically empty. I had the roads to myself which made it truly more beautiful.

US 221 is a beaitiful ride with lots of curves and with a speed limit of 55 that a lot of the time is hard to come close to. About 18 miles around mountain roads with LOTS of curves.

Tail of the Dragon has been talked about a fair amount here. Let me tell you, 318 curves in 11 miles is hard to believe. You are going from curve to curve. You will hardly be able to go beyond 2nd gear! This road will test the limits of that gear in your P-car! Hard acceleration to hard breaking again and again. An unbelievable ride!

Cherohala Skyway is just beautiful. You drive up to 5,000 feet elevation. About 30 miles of a georgeous road with nice curves, up and down the side of a mountain. This road will test your 3rd gear.

These three roads will show you how well your P-car can handle.

I hear that on weekends, ToD and Cherohala are well patrolled. They also get very busy with wekend travelers. I would not have been able to enjoy these roads on a weekend. Maybe I was just lucky to hit these roads on a nice day free of traffic. (On Cherohala, I was the only one up the mountain!)

Recommendation: 5 stars!

I have a few pictures, but I am not sure how to post them here.

I tried to post pictures but I think that I need to have them hosted somewhere. If any of you know how to do it, I can e-mail you a few pictures of those rides.

I am afraid that I do not know how to post the pictures! If one of you know how to do it, please PM me with your e-mail so that I can send a few pictures to you.
Captlst, L.A. Cab:
These were truly UNBELIEVABLE drives. Top down, no music (just the car sound), and total concentration.
