Airbox replacement

Anyone replace their airbox with something different? Just merely for asthetics...like a carbon fiber one. Since I am a poseur! Any ideas?

I am not left with much to mod...we need a twelve step program I swear!!!

Hey Robyn, how about one of these? I'm sure Arling and the boys at Lucent can get these...

I had the first one in the US for my E46 M3 previously...

hey Robyn,

GruppeM makes a Special Ram Air Intake, here is their description of the product:

Unfortunately, the cost is north of $1,900.00 with minimum performance gains, but it looks nice. I was unable to post pics, here is the link:

http://www.gruppemna.com/products_order.php?prod_id=74

Hope this helps, contact Arling at Lucent...

Each system features a racing K&N cone filter(s), which permits maximum air flow while retaining proper filtering capabilities. The filter's housing is specifically designed and handcrafted to provide optimal channeling of fresh cold air into the highly efficient modified K&N racing cone filter(s). Each intake is available in either Carbon Fiber or Carbon Kevlar material for ultra lightweight with extra durability. The design and material provides the most effective heat resistance from the engine compartment, allowing superior performance, and offers astonishing appearance.

Special Ram Air Intakes come complete with all necessary hardware for simple and concise installation. Please specify your preference of Carbon Fiber or Carbon Kevlar upon ordering.

Kevin - This is very true, and I thought about that. But, I won't do it until the end of the year. Todd feels that is when the 3.6L will be able to pass smog with the SC. So...in the meantime...

Eric - Thanks! I'd be interested in this, I look forward to the pictures.

Robyn,

I have the Evolution Motorsports Highflow Air Intake system and it looks pretty trick and gets lots of compliments wherever I go. It also sounds very, very cool!

It is a subject of debate as to whether you get any extra HP from it (although the EVOMS guys absolutely insist that their dyno graphs are accurate and it does add extra power). Several others who have it also noticed increased throttle response which is very nice too...

For less than $400 its a cool looking and great sounding mod even if you don't buy into the HP claims.
