Hope not. I'm going to paint the outside black before it goes in the car. Want to keep it on a low key.

GT3 IPD Plenum

Unfortunately there isn't an IPD plenum for the GT3 applications. Porsche completely redesigned the entire intake system and did a damn nice job in doing so. We did make some prototypes but power was only slightly improved ans didn't warrant going into production. But we will probably revisit the GT3 project again next year. Thanks again to everybody for all your time and support.

Cheers,
Greg

I know there was some testing on the GT3 done here with the rest of the IPD plenums, i just dont remember if it was a cast unit or the factory with a diverter. ALL of the IPD dyno testing and RandD is done at my shop. I can vouch for the gains. I had to stay up MANY nights on the dyno because turbo mike is trying to make more and more power. I probably have 40-50 different porsche dyno test cars dynos on file here from the numerous tests throughout the yrs. Truly a great product, you CANNOT go wrong with it.

Did the Plenum & K&N intake at the same time. A bit smoother, but certainly not an earth shattering difference. She certainly screams at WOT.

Now's your chance to try one - I have one off of my 2003C2 (3.6L) that was used for about a week - I am trading the car for a GT3 and moving stuff back to stock prior. Let me know if you're interested - I'd be willing to part with it for $800 plus shipping. Again, this thing is basically brand new...I bought it with the intent to use it, had it on for a week - the deal with the GT3 is too good to pass up...

For those keeping track at home - I didn't have the car dyno'd, but at high RPM in 2nd and 3rd, no doubt you can feel it...

as Denis stated earlier, all IPD testing was done here on our dyno, and there is one critical thing you guys need to know.

When we compared the stock HP vs the IPD HP gains, we used the BEST HP run we got from the stock car, not the worst, this way we could *close the gap* as best as possible, to give a more conservative view of the plenum gains. The chief designer at IPD is obssesed with the product, and is always looking to improve the products to the highest degree, we have spent many of late night here testing. If there is ANY doubt about the plenum, I can assure you there are no smoke and mirrors here.

My father and I have done some testing with Mike over the past 5 years or so as well. 996 Gt3 with the factory plastic housing and diverter, the 997TT runs on the Speed Gallery car that the first dyno charts came from. These runs were done in Lake Forest around the corner from my shop. Mike definitely spreads the plenum love around MANY shops in SoCal.

I called RSS yesterday to confirm, and they did, that the Plenum for a 2001 996 can also be used for a 997S. I was considering taking the one from my 996 so I could lower my asking price on it. Only problem is that my dealer told me I would void the warranty on my 997.
