Plenum Patent No Longer Pending

Greetings Again 6 Speeders,

First off I'd like to thank all of our loyal and appreciative IPD customers. We joined 6 Speed to be part of a community that would help us grow our business and help promote our product lines here at RSS. Being a Sponsor here on 6 Speed has enables us to develop new products as well as new friends. 6 Speed is only as good as the members (and sponsors) who make the contributions and invest the quality time and energy into these insightful, entertaining and interesting threads. That being said, I would once again like to extend our thanks for all of the continuing support.

We are happy to announce that the IPD plenums are no longer waiting for patent approval. It's official, the IPD plenum are now protected by patent.

Thanks again for everything,
Team RSS and IPD

Keep the mesh in; its purpose is to stop a swirling effect of incoming air and to smooth the flow out.

I have the Fabspeed intake as well; I don't think there is a better air intake than the stock air box with a K&N and the Fabspeed red tube. That filter has the most surface area and a direct feed from the spoiler up or down. You should turn the on board computer to show the instantaneous MPG and drive in 6th at 60 MPH. Then reach down and raise the rear spoiler. Watch your MPG increase. The stock works best with the car. If you're feeling up to the task - take the air box out of the car, it's easy, and use a Dremel tool. If you don't have one, buy one. It's like a magical wand; buy the rechargeable Dremel kit, its like $50 bucks at home depot. Once you have the air box out and safety glasses on cut everything out of the air box (top and bottom) that would impede the flow of air. That includes the thing that screws in and pops a red button looking thing out of the top. Cut everything out maximizing airflow. To cover the hole, use the Dremel to cut a DVD or CD case to fit and glue it on with some gorilla glue. You are trying to extrude hone the air box so to speak. Make sure you clean it extremely well with a hose with a hard stream to get ALL plastic particles out before re-installing it. Dry it by hand as well to catch any stubborn pieces barely hanging on. And with a K&N use as little oil as possible when cleaning. The oil will clog the MAF and light up a CEL. If that ever happens you can pop the MAF out and soak up all the oil and the light will go off.

Why are you so concerned with cleaning all the plastic particles out from your airbox mod? Won't the engine just consume them (any any clay particles from your plenum) and keep right on going?

Why do you list a cayenne? It's a touareg with a Porsche engine. Who cares about a cherokee? Why don't you have your wife make a graph of your cars and bikes and your stupidity and post that. Then I'll print it out and feed it to my Carrera.

Wow, 6 posts on here and they're all worthless. Very impressive. Way to go there champ.

Why don't you post some pics of your car and your intake/cd changer so we can see some of your handywork?

I give it about a week before you get banned. Your posts have all the signs of a 15 year old who sweeps the floor at a muffler shop.

Agreed, The absolute best mod I ever bolted on.... and next time someone gives you crap about the cost, remember these are the same people who will pay $300 bucks for microsoft office, which is a 10 cent DVD and 50 cents of packaging/printing (not counting R&D costs-which to them don't count)

It's not the cost to produce, but the cost to develop and still make a profit based on volume that truly dictates what something will cost and for that I think you guys are spot on with pricing

Like I said, probably a week before he has to find a new home. 6 posts and he's already attacking people. It's only a matter of time before he annoys a mod and has "banned" under his avatar .

Just ordered the RSS plenum for my 02 996 C2 for $796 from Automotion- As mentioned earlier in post, Automotion has 20% off sale on orders over $400- it's good only thru Thurs 10/25- www.automotion.com/

I called RSS & talked to Greg to be sure i was getting their product-- the plenum you purchase from automotion/performance parts is the RSS/IPD plenum.

If you're sitting on fence about purchasing the plenum this is great price and requires no group buy. Ask automotion to have it drop shipped from RSS and it will be on the way quick.
I've no affiliation with either place- was on the fence about purchase, read the many posts & other forum and missed the group buy- .
