This is great feedback. Thank you all very much. I need to drive a Turbo Pepper to see what that's like. I know it won't be anything like the 911 but I still need to look. I had not thought of buying an older SUV so I will add to to the thought process as well. Sure do love my 911.

+1 on the Rover idea. Wish you were a bit closer to Texas, have a friend getting ready to sell a very, very clean Rover for around 9K.

Keep it

I bought a 03 Disco for $13500 w/50K on it. While it doesn't get the MPG I would like its really a nice ride.

Land rovers in the early 2000's have continous problems with the air suspension. Just a fyi.

Best thing I did to my 01 Range Rover was change the air suspension to regular coil springs. I think the kit was only $400. Truck actaually road much better as a benefit.

+1 for keeping the C4S and buying a used SUV. I kept my '00 Cherokee. Not a big SUV but perfect for hauling stuff back from Home Depot with. Plus I can take it to places with busy parking lots and not care about getting dinged...huge plus in my book.

I would love a used Land Rover but I'm scared of the quality. They seem to have a lot of annoying little problems.

I love my cayenne and was warned off of buying a rover from the land rover dealer service manager as they are the same dealer owner and he know I buy a lot of cars from them.

As for the Cayenne turbo, try to find an 08 demonstrator or something with the new PDDC. Coming from a sports car the dynamic roll control option in the Cayenne will make you very very happy. I drove one an couldn't believe it was a truck.

+1 on used Cherokee. Does everything an SUV should and it lets you keep your P-car.

Here's my history--you can see I am trying to be good, but it doesn't work.
Chevy Truck then . . .
Audi 4000S Quattro
Subaru Outback
Audi tt Quattro turbo cab
Toyota Highlander
996 C4S

Moral is: When you want a sports car, get (and keep) a sports car.

[The common thread for me is that they were all AWD and all a blast in our MN winters . . .]

I havent done anything yet but I am leaning toward an M5. I took one for a drive and although it was not a 911, it had some smack and was a very nice ride.

Any tips on a used M5?

I have had this bug too...and had regrets.

Keep it and get a beater SUV...dont worry what the idiots at the course think...Id rather have my beater SUV dented with a golf ball than my 911.
