Has anyone gone from 6 speed to tip, any regrets?

i test drove 997tt back to back....six speed to tip and personally since i'll be in alot of traffic during the week days and track on the week ends i went with the tip......i also have a subaru wrx sti and the clutch is light but it has feel all the way through its motion, and the shifter is firm and direct, where the 997 seemed to have a mushy clutch where it was firm for 2'' then soft and mushy, and the shifter seemed equally as bad......anyways if i want to drive 6spd ill just drive that.....i think that the 997 tip is pretty good, and if you want to a drive hard and upshift into corners you should be driving in the manual mode of tiptronic...

I like the Tip

I have the Tip and really like it for a daily drive and also at the track. In sport mode it does just what you want, downshifts and blips the throttle, holds the right gear in the corner. Its a joy to drive on the track. I let my old instrctor drive it and he loved it, no complaints about what the tip did. But I do have a Giac tune and Fabsped exhaust, which was needed to decrease lag and get more low end torque.

About second gear starts, it depends how you are driving. If you are driving hard and stop it starts out in first. If you are not driving hard it starts in second.

So 6 speed it is, now if I can only decide on a color. I looked at slate and it was a little too brown for me, GT silver looks great but I can't do silver again. I am leaning towards meteor gray. The search continues......
1-final essential point too, with having a 6-speed it keeps the wife, girl friends, kids or whoever, from even suggesting she/he would like to drive your tt. Plus the fun aspect, it is just not there with a tip. With a 6-speed, you do the driving, with an autotran, it does the driving.

But it will start in first gear in sport mode, once you´ve been over 3.000 revs in sport mode. Check it out!

But i agree - i desperatly waiting for PDK!!!
What is a PDK?
