Infineon weekend: Good fun, but got wall rash
chris, your bro got a cayman right?
if so, we met at TH before.
the fact you chirp'd the tires you didn't brake hard enough or early enough, compounded by not heel and toe all had something to do with it. try to stay far left, brake all the way to the end wall, like you want to hit hit headon, then turn hard back into the inside tire wall, control the push with throttle, wait until it's pointing straight then wot to T2.
is andrew b., the chief instructor for audi club? i know he used to instruct there. find him and get a ride. smooth as butta and very very good instructor.
though INFINEON isn't a place to push too hard, a stock turbo should be under 1:50 easily. work up to that slowly though. cayman s did 1:54, so i know you can do better.
i wouldn't use hoosier just yet. when you are below 1:50 then throw on hoosiers, else you are not using the rubber.
do you have pccb? if not, goto 18". there's no good 19" tires other than hoosiers (see above comment). get your car to tcdesignfab.com and let tony align it. dont go anywhere else b/c you wont find anyone better.
see u soon.
a bunch of porsches will be at TH with trackmasters early in november.

Mooty:
Good feedback. Will try that line next time. Dave is my brother-- he traded Speed Yellow Cayman for Red Cayman S.
I have PCCBs-- didn't seem to help. ;-)
Andrew was instructing, but not me (I was solo during my incident). I have gotten a ride with him before, but not an Infineon. He's amazing.
Can't imagine sub 1:50, but I did improve 0:12 over one weekend, so maybe more seat time will get me there.
Will look at the trackmaster event. thanks.

Just a way to see how far the tire rolls over and, based on this, play with tire pressure.
If your there again contact Troy07 on 6speed he has a lot of experience at Sears Point could offer some valuable advice! http://www.troycastaneda.com. My Avatar is of him driving! Oh yea welcome Troy to 6speedonline!
