07 600rr vs 997 turbo

Hello All.

Recently I met someone with a badass white 997 turbo and he gave me a ride and it was awesome. It just squats, grips with all four wheels and goes with no drama except a loud whoosh sound...amazing.

Anyway I want to run him with my new 2007 600rr which has an arrow full exhaust system and a power commander (computer). Can someone tell me what to expect if we go from a dead stop? Ive never had a chance to race a car with close to 500hp. plus he has the overboost thingy too (thats so sweet)

Thanks

Ive been riding for about 9 years now (since I was 14), started riding fast bikes when I was 18. Learned to ride on a racetrack though because I dont care much about street riding. Hence the lack of experience with racing highpowered cars.

But yeah we will probably go from a stop to probably 150ish because he wants to use the awesome traction of his car.

My bike is not setup for drag racing btw, it has just been lightened(no lights, race fairings).

Why not? It will be on a very deserted, flat and wide road in daylight. Plus I think I can keep a good head while racing.

For you to get an idea. Here is information of last weeks incident.
Had the chance to drive MKS's 997TT. The car has a manual transmission. Mods are short shifter, HRE wheels and Tubi exhaust. We ran into a C6 Z06. If i am not mistaken, it has a air intake system + catback exhaust. We managed to pass him on all three attempts. Then, he backed off. We continued cruising until we stopped at the lights finding ourselves next to a Honda CBR 600 RR motorbike. Bare in mind that the bike had a rider plus a passenger. He wanted to play a bit so i droped the clutch at 5500rpm. Which did not give him a chance. We then turned right on the sea side road. There, i wanted him to have all his muscle to have a slight comparison. We stayed together to about 50mph or so and then hit the gas together. He was only beside us for approximately 2-3 seconds. Then it was game over for him.

So this should give a slight idea. Now to your question. Since there is only the rider on the bike, plus the exhaust, power commander and lightened bike. The bike will have the advantage up to i would guess 120-130 mph. The coefficient drag (CD) plays to the advantage of the car after that speed. Knowing that cars have better CD than bikes. Good luck and let us know of the outcome. Hope we could see a video for justification purposes.

I had a friendly run with an R6 when I was stock. The R6 would pull an easy 4-5 lengths and hold it on 50-100mph runs

I agree, you can get a jump on him up to about 100 but he will eventually catch and pass you.

Well it went down this thursday. Went from a stop and got some pretty good distance on him but at about 160-ish I could hear that familiar whoosh gaining up behind me. From a 60 roll got some good distance again but he was constantly in my mirrors and started creeping up once we got over 130 and passed me at about 150. I would like to say that I could just feel the almost unlimited power of the porsche, It was like a train, just didn't stop accelerating and eventually caught up.

Oh and he took me for a 180mph run in the car, haha that was fun.
