Info On Sirius Satellite Radio In 997 Turbo
I just got my NavTV installed with Sirius and the Tooki BT application. Works great so far!
Does your display show only the channel? Mine only shows the channel number and the name of the channel (eg Alt Nation) and I was wondering if you can get the name of the band and song title like Sirius in my M6 and Benzes?

Who did the work Vic? I would love to get Sirius in my 997TT.

I talked to my local mod shop about putting Sirius Satellite radio installed in my fathers 997 turbo. For the whole job including full integration in the Nav system I was quoted around $1400. Can anyone explain why it is this much and if its a rip off? Thanks
if you find one for less, let me know also. nav-tv unit is about $1100 and another $100 to install it. porsche must have a new unit since i heard the 2009 911 models are going to have the units available from the factory.
I am going with a mobridge unit. In one unit you can have bluetooth, ipod interface and sat. into the aux. www.mobridgeinc.com. Actually, I have ordered two for my cars. My audio guy at bestbuy ironically is well versed in fitting these sort of devices. Total - <1K. They do have a couple of weeks backorder though - probably due to the recent laws in CA regarding cell phones.
Has any one used the iphone with the mobridge? How is the sound quality when using the phone? What unit works (sirius) with the mobridge? Does it plug into the mobridge?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
I went with dension in the end - from eric ( bumperplugs) on the forum. But the satellite plugs into the aux input on both the dension and/or mobridge. works fine on the dension - not tested the mobridge though - coz they didnt have a device in stock in time due to backorders - and I needed bluetooth.
I don't want to rub salt in the wound but the Sat radio really is fantastic...I never lose signal (unlike my other 2 cars...well let me rephrase that...it loses signal but only for a very very short interval and less than the other cars.)
Now that I have tooki, ipod and sat radio...I honestly am enjoying the car more. I know that sounds nuts...but its true. We did a meet/drive today for 2 hours...I got to have the adrenaline rush of the turbos coupled with sat radio and ipod...pure sweetness!
Find someone to do it fast! The Nav tv set up (once tweaked a bit) really is something else.
You could always road trip out to NJ and have it done!
