Does your display show only the channel? Mine only shows the channel number and the name of the channel (eg Alt Nation) and I was wondering if you can get the name of the band and song title like Sirius in my M6 and Benzes?

Who did the work Vic? I would love to get Sirius in my 997TT.

Jaime Rawlings of Rawlings Audio, a referral of board member Terrence, call him at 626 372 0744 and tell him you heard he does his best work on Guards Red cars

I talked to my local mod shop about putting Sirius Satellite radio installed in my fathers 997 turbo. For the whole job including full integration in the Nav system I was quoted around $1400. Can anyone explain why it is this much and if its a rip off? Thanks

I didn't know there was a factory Sirius module anymore. Did they start selling one again?

if you find one for less, let me know also. nav-tv unit is about $1100 and another $100 to install it. porsche must have a new unit since i heard the 2009 911 models are going to have the units available from the factory.

I am going with a mobridge unit. In one unit you can have bluetooth, ipod interface and sat. into the aux. www.mobridgeinc.com. Actually, I have ordered two for my cars. My audio guy at bestbuy ironically is well versed in fitting these sort of devices. Total - <1K. They do have a couple of weeks backorder though - probably due to the recent laws in CA regarding cell phones.

I went with dension in the end - from eric ( bumperplugs) on the forum. But the satellite plugs into the aux input on both the dension and/or mobridge. works fine on the dension - not tested the mobridge though - coz they didnt have a device in stock in time due to backorders - and I needed bluetooth.

Find someone to do it fast! The Nav tv set up (once tweaked a bit) really is something else.

You could always road trip out to NJ and have it done!
Is your Sat Radio the Porsche OEM kit or Nav-TV Kit?

Cheers

Hello Old Man,

Steve and Imagineauto is not arround anymore. He left behind a lot of DIY writeups however which will be arround for a long time...
