2008 997TT purchase questions
Porsche cut back on production of 08 TT's to keep supply below demand and thus keep prices high. Porsche also shifted the mix more towards cabriolets and fewer coupes. Discounts off MSRP are difficult to get. Of course demand varies by region of the country, and if you can find a car you like in a low demand area, you can get a discount. Similarly if you have a long relationship with the dealer, he might give you a discount. At the dealer here in Seattle, the only Porsche dealer in Seattle, their allocation of 08 TT coupes is only 8 for the entire year, way below 07. Result -- no discounts, except maybe token discounts for best customers.
no brainer, 997TT. mine has giac software (pump & race) and sport exhaust. 600+ reliable HP. under $5K installed and it's a rocketship. nice thing about giac is the manual switcher (if you have to have any warranty work done).
Thanks for the phone conversation and I will look forward to working with you next week. It sure is nice to have a forum sponsor step up to the plate and give great customer service.... even to the noob!
No prob happy to be of service! Look forward to speaking with you next week. Have a great Holiday!
I like both the GT3 and TT, but just bought an '08 TT (can't figure out how to change my sig line in this post). The dealer gave me a discount off of MSRP of about $10K - the car had been sitting around for awhile. When I picked it up yesterday it had 25 miles on the odometer.
Cobalt blue, sea blue full leather interior, with ceramics and bright yellow seat belts - I guess those were ordered to match the brake color. Sports chrono and LSD a must, plus it has a thicker steering wheel. 6 speed, going to GIAC flash and change exhaust - kept my old HRE Comp 21 wheels from my last '07 Turbo. Will post pictures if there is interest.
Brey-Krause harness bar with 6 point harnesses, and will swap out seats - need for instructing at track. Bilsteins and stiffer sway bars. Not going to do JRZ or Motons this time around.
I think that this will be the last of the flat six turbos, think next generation flagship cars will be V8s, but I could be wrong (and I usually am!).

Thanks, I will be looking into them after her first track day on Jan 15.
