I drove an AM V8 today, the Turbo has nothing to worry about. The turbo plays on an entirely different playing field, not even close. Porsche Turbo is still the king!

agreed, i see what you mean now. the 997TT has no fear of becoming obsolete anytime soon! it's in the league of the killers for sure and will remain as such. i am interested to find out more about the upcoming RS8 and Vantage RS but i know the ZR1, Viper, and GTR will be serious performers. these are cars that strike fear into the hearts of virtually all comers on the highways and the 997TT is no exception.

The ZR1, Viper, GTR are for sure setting the next benchmark. I have gotten a chance to see Hennessey's 08 Viper in action already, and it was very impressive. It is really great to have so many supercar options available at non-exotic price points. As a Porsche TT owner these new cars demand respect - but Lambo and Ferrari owners will probably have more loathing

I'm not a track car person - never have been and never will be. Call me crazy, but ALL of your cited vehicles are extremely close in performance. All are within a split second of each to 60 mph and within one second for the quarter mile. Seems to me to be all about driver competency and then overall vehicle quality contingent upon intended usage (ie. weekend track car vs. daily driver, etc.). I love my TT. I was just challenged by a ZO6 coming from my home going onto the LIE into the City. He went out of his way, pulling over multiple lanes to follow me and goad me ....I took the challenge. Who won doesn't matter (I kicked his ***, not because his car wasn't as fast, but because I was a better driver, at least on Thursday night). All of these vehicles are fantastic. I'd love to own all of them and have my choice of which to drive each day. Anyway, they'll come out with a faster TT next year or the year after and Detroit will always put out more HP - but really, who cares ? I think we should all be happy to drive a truly phenominal world class sports car. After racing with the Z06 for a couple of miles I slowed down to let him catch up. It was a young man who gave me the thumbs up sign. That was special. Winning is nice, but the respect car enthusiasts have for our TT's is what makes owning the TT so much fun. IMHO, the TT is the number one manufacturers target for all sports cars (except for a couple of Italian super exotics). Its no wonder that all drivers seeks to dethrone us. They may be licking our heels now, but good luck to them in dethroning us. Long live the TT.
