Sorry, but this is not correct, you describe the behavior in sport mode, where PSM is more liberal. But if you switch PSM off being in Sport mode it´s off until BOTH ABS sensors on your front wheels detect a locking wheel. PSM off in normal PASM Mode will be activated if ONE of your ABS sensors detect a locking wheel.

Hope you understand what i´m trying to say, this info is from the 9977TT technical info and it´s written in german

I can assure that PSM off means off, i experienced this on a drift event and a lot of funny snow days.
This is pretty much what I meant to say. From the owner's manual:
"When PSM is off and Sport mode is on, the vehicle is stablized as soon as both front wheels enter the ABS control range"

That is, PSM is off only until one (in normal mode) or both (in Sport mode) front wheels enter the ABS control range. Then PSM does go into action to stabilize the car. At least, that's my interpretation of the manual.

I haven't been to the skidpad yet to try drifting. Dry tracking is fine for me so far. Drifting or doing donuts is certainly possible regardless of mode, since the front wheels won't be in ABS control range, no?

Either way, I love my TT, but I still want a GT2

Its not predictable

I was also testing the car with the traction controll off in sport mode. Since it was cold I could spin the tires at low car speed. Sometimes TC kicks in and sometimes not. This fooled me because the first several times it kicked in. Then I hit it in a turn and it didn't kick it, so I got sidewards in both directions before stabilizing. I think its more dangerous with not being able to turn it completely off because it is not predictable.
