Did you buy from Horst?

The customer service there is excellent as you probably know.

Shay Rowe, Owner, will have a big Hospitality Tent set up at Daytona this weekend for the Rolex 24 Hour. A bunch of us are driving up for the event. There will be a special Porsche Corral for our cars.

Good luck with your new turbo.

Yes, Horst was my connection. I must have blown that poor guys phone up for a month. He found a bunch of cars but no dealers would trade. He kept telling me to take the silver, but I was reluctant... until I saw it!

I would love to come up to the track and hang out. Shay is a good guy.

Brett:

Shay and Monica (his wife) are going to have lots of goodies including beer for all of us great customers! It should be a fun time.

I just spoke to Horst on another matter and about took the wind out of his sail,,

I said,, OH, I paid sticker for my TT and I just read on 6 speed that you discounted a new TT 10%,,, He was shocked..

Later on I told him it was a joke!!

Shay is joining our fun run on saturday up to Daytona.

Come by the Porsche of Melbourne Trailer and meet the locals PCA Spacecoast guys.

By buying your car at P of Melbourne you get a free year of PCA membership and probably in the Space Coast Club.

If the weather if not pouring rain I will bring the TT since they have fenced guarded parking!!

I think I have a plan. My 997Turbo gets here in 6 weeks and I'm going to combine both break-in methods.
First 800 -1000 miles: Treat her really nice to settle the brakes, tyres, drivetrain etc etc.
Next 800 - 1000 miles: Drive it manically hard to toughen up the engine and wring out the extra power.

Sorted.

Wait til you have 2 weeks to go.

Talk abt manic!

The last few days are the hardest to wait for your TT. We all went thru it and barely survived.

Good luck on the wait.

Break it in using common sense. 2,000 miles comes quick if you use it everyday.

Yeah I've got to admit I'm getting pretty excited Cabman, I think it helps that my old car (997S) has gone back to the dealers to be sold so I'm completely Porscheless.
I never dreamed I would be able to afford cars like these when I was a young shaver and the Porsche Turbo was always my fantasy car (that and the Lotus Europa, anyone remember them!) so to be closing in on one is real lump in the throat stuff.

Re the aforementioned Lotus Europa. I used to drool over these when I was 15 years old, having not seen one for years I just googled it. Good grief it's an odd looking thing by modern standards! Where ever did those 28 years go :-)

br d

just keep reading and reading here making the time go by..

seems last yr, abt now,, there were 20 of us in the same boat you are in now... ordered our cars and waiting..

At least you have more info on the TT s now with so many out.

I didnt sleep a full night for 2 months.. the last two in anticipation.

Its a great feeling AND wait til you get it,, and that first drive. OMG.. Priceless..

I took mine on 95 from the dealer just to feel the acceleration from 50 to 100 in 5th and 6th without going over 4200 rpm. You can still have a lot of fun and not exceed your rev limits!!

Now, i redline the car in the first few gears as SOP.

Time will fly hopefully!! NOT

I too used to drool over a Lotus Europa. Looking at them now, wow, they sure do look odd and dated, unlike, for example, a 911 from the same era.
