Well, actually silver was my color of choice until about 2 months ago when I was pumping gas into my Benz and a white TT pulled in. I stood there and looked at it and though, "wow, that looks nice"..... and started looking harder at 997TT's. A few big cases later and I am ready to buy and of course ther are none to be found at a price I am willing to pay. The offer on the arctic was made to me after the dealer was unable to get any other dealer to trade and when I inquired about a direct purchase they would not discount the car. For the money I am saving I could have the car painted white by an exotic shop! (not that I would do that). While I dont think that the silver "pops" like the white I think it will look good with what I have planned. I have always driven slammed black cars with black windows so a change may be in order... a slammed silver car with black wheels!!! (and 700hp)

Brett did you call my contact for the Feb build? You can still change the color to White and get you want. Work with him and I am sure you can get it done. Not many are willing to move on them at the moment as many don't have much on the ground. A few here and there.

Silver is always a classic. The GT Silver is my fav silver. But I like White better in 997TT. Silver in the 993 and Black in the 996.

I did not make the call because I have been met with long pauses on the phone when I mention discount. I had a number in mind (percentage) when I started looking and it looks like I have found my number. It is hard to ask over the phone for a deal when they probably get asked all the time and cant weed out the talkers from the buyers. Makes me uncomfortable I guess.

White is great...but if the deal on the silver is too sweet, well, do some wheels and lower it...it will keep you happy...

IMHO how much of a discount you are getting has some bearing on whether you should take the car. So, before I try to convince , how much of a discount are you getting? Don't have to say dealer if you are not comfortable, just the amount. I mean to me it would make some difference if it's 10k vs. 3k off you are getting.

And what is the "multi wheel"? Some after-market wheel? If so, which one & how much are they charging you?

I really want white but damn the silver looks good and the price is right. Ohhhhhh, I am so confused. Show me some silver cars for motivation or convince me white is worth the wait. ....

Cannga - multiwheel is the steering wheel option. I have that option. What I was trying to help Brett out in is that he can get what he wants exactly with a very changeable build that is ready to be built in Feb 19th. Thats crazy that he can get it about 2 months and get what he wants. I don't care what color he chooses I was just looking out for a member as well as my sales guy who has taken care of me in the past.

Thanks for the clarification. Other question is how much of a discount, Brett1??
I would lean to wait for white too, except, how much? :-)

I have a GT Silver 07 Coupe, and parked right next to it is my new 08 Carrara White Cab. They are both awesome!! I think the white is different and really pops. I went on a ride with my local club this weekend, and my white TT was the only one out of 35 cars or so. I got so many compliments on the car, I was amazed at how much people like white. If I had to choose one car, I think I would prefer the white. BUT HOW COULD YOU GO WRONG WITH EITHER COLOR? Enjoy whatever you wind up with.

White or silver

I had a white 2006 C4S. Here in MobTown, every Benz, lexus, civic, AND porsches I saw were White. White does pop, but as an older driver it felt, well, like a girl's color to me...no offense to the guys who have white. When I ordered this turbo ( march 08) i went back and forth between red and GT silver...several times. In the end, The silver won out. really, what these otherr guys said...get what YOU want. There are plenty of good deals around
Mike
