997 turbo - tip or stick
I am thinking of getting a 997 turbo and wanted to have your thoughts on either - tip, stick or wait for the PDK tranny. I plan on keeping the fcar and will use the porsche as a second daily driver to split the 90 mile daily commute.
I had a porsche 2002 C4 stick and enjoyed it, but I now have a ferrari 360 with F1 and it is great. Even my wife can enjoy it.
I live in south florida so there are lots of flat highway roads
Any thoughts ???

Wait....its what I am doing too...wait is annoying but after my Gallardo, I think clutchless manual is the way to go if you live in a city with traffic but don't want a slushbox...
Also, I believe that at some point in the next decade, manuals will cease to exist

I like to hear new and diverse opinions, rather than just referring our members to old, and perhaps outdated opinions.
Don't you think you can just "not read it" if it irritates you that much?<O

Like usual I agree with Jason...this topic comes up what seems like once per week.
Anyway, here's my opinion, which is not outdated...get the stick! If you are not injured, have another car for traffic and bad weather...you are nuts to get a tip. But to each his own.

Personally I think shifting with the steering wheel buttons is more fun than a stick. Like many have said, manuals will be gone soon. While tips aren't clutch-less, they still provide just as much enjoyment. Plus with the turbo tip, you can brag how your car is faster to 60 than the manual.

Click on the video tab and watch the one about the 997TT. They give a nice synopsis of why the manual is better than the tip in the 997TT.
And that's from those softies adt Edmunds . . .
