anyone here have the AWE muffler deletes?
PAAP. Truer words of wisdom have not been spoken.
Aren't both Fabspeed and AWE around you somewhere?

Can,
As far as hearing different exhausts, try being in Southwestern Pennsylvania. I can go for months without seeing another 997 Porsche and a year without seeing another Turbo, let alone attempting to hear different aftermarket exhausts. After 31 years of marriage, I highly recommend the PAAP theory. Peace at any Price. That's why what she doesn't know (aftermarket exhaust) won't hurt her - or me.

First person that allows Cannga to hear their 997TT A.W.E. Tuning exhaust gets a free set of pedal covers. $200 value.
Cannga, this might help motivate someone!
See here for more details.

How about a set of headers?
Mike,
I am not done with you yet.
1. Is the AWE system lighter than stock and if so, how much please?
2. With respect to loudness, I already know what you are trying to achieve. But as far as the character of the sound, I am curious as to what were you looking for or trying to emulate when you were fine tuning this system? Rumbling V8, screaming GT3 cup cars, etc.? I like very much the sound of AWE, from *video clips*, but for now won't tell you which part of it I like. And warning, I am an over the top audiophile.

Actually it is not really the shape of the can that dictates the tone. It's a combination of a few things.
1. The amount of packing material used.
2. Type of packing material used.
3. Size of holes in the perforated tubing inside the muffler.
4. Amount of holes in the perforated tubing.

No worries. That is why I am here.
Saves 20 lbs over stock.
There was really no particular car or style we were trying to mold the sound after. Rumbling V8's and Cups don't have turbos so we knew it will never sound like that. We tried to find a unique voice without blowing out your ear drums or making it sound like a '71 Super Beetle.
If you ask me, most of the aftermarket systems for these cars all sound similar. It's the interior noise, before and after customer support, build quality, packaging, fitment, and alignment of tips that separate the men from the boys.
You also sent me a PM regarding the pipe in between the mufflers. Have you looked at your OEM system? We took cues from the OEM design since it also uses a balance pipe.
I hope this helps with your decision.

No problem.
You are almost a graduate of A.W.E. Technical Institute. Just a few more classes to go!

Nothing. It's a great system, as is Fabspeed, Tubi and CG. Small variations in sound levels and pitch provide an exhaust for everyones particular taste. Great to have all these choices.
Let me first ask this. How much louder do you want to go?
Well I like the sound right now from a cold startup, but once it warms up and quiets down I do not like how quiet it is. I could stand for it to be louder than startup but how much louder are the muffler deletes?
At WOT they sound awesome, but to me the volume at highway cruise is a bit over the top. Just my opinion....
However, I have sold many sets and some people are really into it...
Over the top as in I am yelling to my date to have a conversation or as in I cant wait to get out of the car cause my heads is ringing? Or both??
