TurboRx is infamous around these parts
My TT needed one quart at only 2200 miles. I was very surprised to say the least. The weather here is pretty hot and humid so that may have something to do with it as well.??

What would happen if you "overfill the sump"? How would you know? I drove it after I put in the 2 quarts and it did not smoke or feel like anything was wrong.

Damned if I know, but did you check the level again after having driven the car up to full operating temperature. Read somewhere that no good can come from an overfill of oil. Overfilling a regular engine results in the crankshaft splashing the oil around in the pan beating into a foamy bubbly froth. The oil pump starves out trying to pump bubbles and damage occurs.

Could it be that running 5-50 increases engine protection on track?

No I don't think so because every cpo uses the 5 w -50 they have to use it from Porsche Belgium. I don't track my car and in Belgium you can't speed a lot. It is just better for the car.

Hi,

some pretty reasonable prices for the -40 there. Just been to a car shop here in dubai and its selling for almost 45 USD for 4 litres. Have the chance to get to the states from time to time. Do they sell it in Costco ?.

Rgds.

The Costcos around where I live don't sell it. In fact, they don't even stock 5W oils of any kind - only 10W oils. Plus, the only oil I saw was from Chevron/Standard Oil. Blech!

I have 450 miles on mine and the first bar was open (below the line), I just put in 250ml and the bar is now full with the excess bar open still. On my 996TT- Speed Gallery did the oil changes and they always had the oil above the measuring line (bar above the line filled). What about on 997s?
