H&R Springs/spacers or OEM initially?
I have H&R springs on my car. I like them fine. The car is about an inch lower all around so it drags much easier but it looks much better lower. I had it corner balanced and realigned. Thanks
Sorry Chris I'd definitely have to disagree with that sentiment. You have had no direct experience with suspension mods and it'd be hard to draw conclusions from two different articles about two different mods. Eclou would really be the best person to comment on which would be the better track setup since he's had both done and he tracks his car fairly often. From what I've seen he seems to prefer the damptronics for tracking. We should wait to hear from him about that.
What I meant to say is that you have no direct experience with suspension mods for the 997TT. The 996TT and the 997TT uses two completely different suspension technologies. PASM vs non-PASM. Anyways, that's all I'm going to say about this topic. It's like you said, not a pissing contest.

I R MOD my SUCPENCION AN IT DRIVS GUUD!
No ASSumptions from anyone about who has more experience since we don't know each other's true experience. No pissing around here fella's - I wear flip-flops often and I would hate to get my feet wet from anything other than water

997 Turbo - Depending on what your intentions and expectations are then the H&R will be fine. I will tell you from experience with the H&R and Sport PASM doesn't go hand in hand on bumpy roads well. Otherwise it is a tight feel and can be a little bouncy on roads with lots of small dips.
It will lower and settle to just slightly over an inch in drop. With a set of spacers 7mm in the front and 14mm in the rear you will be sitting pretty. I know this setup well since this was my setup before I went with the 20's wheels and Bilstein PSS Damptronics.
Okay now everyone hold hands and sing along with me...

I'll vouch for everything Chris says, his C4S was nicely setup and he has a lot of track time. The 996/997 suspensions aren't that different, same basic setup ( fixed coil overs, multi link etc) albeit more complicated with the PASM.
I was extremely happy with the Techart springs both on and off the track. The spring rate of the Techarts is a touch higher than the stock springs and a touch softer than the GMG springs. It was a very good street/track compromise. That being said, the Damptronic is even better in terms of comfort but not really to a higher level. If I was 80% happy with stock then I was 95% happy with the Techarts and now 98% happy with the Damptronics. Comparing the cars I have R&R the suspension on - E36M3, 944turbo, 993tt, 997tt, the Damptronics is the best street/track combo I have ridden on, save for the F430

Oh and for everyone balking from the scraping issues - the front lip is cheap and easily replaceable. It is a no brainer to me to enjoy the improved handling and sharpness from the lowered CG and better alignment that becomes achievable. Chris I am bringing your brother over to the darkside soon!
