Facelift or New?
in which continent cars usualy appear first EUROPE or US??? facelifted 997 turbo?
I also find it hard to digest that just about every model from the Boxter to the Turbo will change simultaneosly in model year 2009 .
I also feel that time tilts towards the side of the buyer if he can afford the time to wait . I also hesitate to buy any car (Porsche or otherwise) first off the boat with new technologies .
I did buy a launch C2S and took a chance but the engine changes were not in the form of transmission or DFI . Reflecting on the new cars : a 1999 996 faced changes in 2000, so did the 996tt when the bumperetes were removed , so did the C2S with a recall and some ceramic brake issues (I faced no problems with mine) .
This particulat 997tt car has in comparison with the above has a very good reliabilty record from day one but it's anyone's guess what the future car will bring .
Conclusion : I would wait for it to be out one year but if I did not (or could not) wait I would buy this model now .
Good Luck.
The so called facelift 09 model with DFI will be available later this year. The usual appearance date for the introduction of subsequent year models is late summer of the previous year. It may be sooner, but I am both anxious and optimistic, since I have a deposit on one.

I was told the same information by one of the largest(by volume) dealerships in the country. I also put down a deposit for my 09 TT.
