997 TT at MSRP?

hi, does anyone mind sharing some info on this? I know there are few turbo sitting in any lot for sale. If I were to order one, wut is a reasonable break can I shoot for, or it is msrp for the turbo. I have seen 20 to 30 k off the cayenne turbo before the new model arrived, but they have lots of them to move. Thx.

I ordered mine 8 months ago (shes almost here) and paid MSRP, I was lucky to get an allocation at that time.

Fast forward and it seems demand is reduced despite low production. I would shoot for 5k off an ordered car and perhaps a wee bit more on one sitting on the lot.

But bottom line is you wont know until you press them. I would go in strong, they can only say no!

This REALLY depends on the dealer. From my experience, smaller dealers with low allocations won't budge off MSRP (unless they's sat on a car for a while). Additionally, you may find it difficult to order a car from such a dealer...they simply might not be able to get another.
Larger dealers tend to be more flexible, mainly because they've got more cars to deal with. But again, the willingness to dicker can vary between dealers, and within a dealer depending on the model you are looking for, the time of year, and how much of their allocation they've used up. Try some of the big dealers in Florida, Texas, Arizona or California, and be prepared to ship (some will even help with the cost of shipping.)
I did find a dealer willing to negotiate on a factory order Turbo, but only after calling around.

I paid 2K off MSRP and felt I paid high . In comparison I got my 997S for 9K off and was very happy with that deal . Two different dealerships --I like both too . The key issue when buying the Turbo was that no one had a car at that time . In hindsight I may look on 6speed for aused car next time . These a few really nice 997tt cars in the for sale section and the advantage of buying from a fellow 6speeder is that IMO that one can sit and discuss every aspect of that car with the previous owner . This is not usually the case with used car shopping .

9K off, on an order car, or one that they has in stock? I saw that a lot of the dealers were discounting all their inventory last nov/dec. I am not sure if this apply to the turbo...

The 997S was in stock . The Turbo was a different type of car as it's more rare. I did not order my car . One day I probably will but my method of car buying has always been over the phone making calls .

Sometimes it means an option or two (more or less than desired) but I only keep my cars for two years . I am hoping this one may have three years with me because I really like it and it's not a daily driver .

BTW --9K off a 997S is not uncommon . 9K off a Turbo howerver I have NEVER seen . In fact I even paid above MSRP one time for a used Turbo in 1998 when the 993 Turbo was not in production and I found a pristine low mileage car.

Lastly -- there are a few Turbo's in the for sale section on 6speed and it might be worth looking at if you want to shave a few dollars off MSRP and have a chance to discuss the car with the actual owner . I feel that's one of many good things that this forum offers .

Good Luck.

my dealer back home offered me a new $128kmsrp (IIRC) grey/blk 997tt for $9k or 10k off last year, can't remember exactly. i posted it here but other than some tire-kickers, no one bit. i'm pretty sure i even could have gotten them down another g or 2

they did sell the car within 48 hours. so i agree with the previous posts, it just depends, not only on the dealer, but the overall circumstances. but i have never and would never pay msrp for any porsche (except gt3rs, maybe)

good luck in your search.

If negotiating is at all in your blood, this is incorrect.

If you were to order a virtually stock TT with a sticker of around $135K, you would not have much room to deal. However, if you go crazy with options, you should demand some type of discount. My ordered '08 TT coupe msrp was 155K and I got 3K off from a very large so cal dealer. I know 3K is not huge, but it's real money and any savings is better than not.

I ordered a 08 997tt at the beginning of January with a MSRP of $135k. Got 3k knocked off. Felt as if I may have gotten more from them had I really pushed, but had already shopped the other Porsche dealer in the state and they were sticking to MSRP hard. Now would seem a good time to order with all the news about the GTR and impending facelift.

Here in So. Cal. I have seen up to $10,000 off of new 997 TT's. There are way too many on the market right now. Only the 997Tt cabs are holding MSRP. Great deals now if you pick up off the lot.
