"It's an amazing piece of metal."
That's rich coming from you. How about you find one piece of evidence that shows a 997 to lap faster than a GTR or shut up. You're full of complaints about how the driver drove wrong.... wrong tyres... wrong colour... wrong weather... wrong breakfast....etc. Get a car, get yourself in it and drive this amazing lap you keep babbling about. What a muppet.
Okay, they're lying, just as they were about the 7m38s lap that nobody believed until it landed on YouTube. Then there was the 7m37s lap that they have as a speed-time graph but never bothered to claim. Have you got a video of the 997's 7m40s lap. No!
Nobody said that tyres don't make a difference but don't try exchanging tyres for seconds. Either put the tyres on and do the lap, or shut up. You have various times.....blah blah. I have various times for the exercise of taking a crap after various different meals but I'm not going to try trade food for seconds because I'm not that stupid. There are tons of other variables that haven't been controlled, so sorry, no deal on the rubber for seconds.
Your knowledge is at odds with ALL the magazines so far. Let's be quite clear about that.
You've not read it have you dum-dum? The ECU compensates for altitude. The air is thinner, the ECU detects this and delivers more boost, such that the mass of air entering each cylinder remains constant.
Oh dear, back to school for you.
No gold-fish-boy, you also said that the rear seats were removed.... and no, I'm not going to trawl through the entire thread to find it.
So far the GTR vs 997TT & GT3 record stands at:
GTR: 7 --------- 997: 0
Nordschleife (Manufacturer)
Nordschleife (Sport Auto)
Tsukuba (BEST Motoring)
Rockingham (CAR)
Bedford (Evo)
Fuji (Various)
Autocar Test
How long does this list need to be before you shut up?

No dummy. I'm just not stupid enough to post a picture of my car or house on the internet. Seriously, who would be that dumb?
In any case, how would you know whether I'd hadn't simply gone to an estate agent site and copied a few pictures from there. Everything on the internet is ****. Using information on the internet I can disprove science and the occurrence of every major historical event.

I was going to keep my mouth shut about the Z06. But after reading comment about it being faster and better than the GTR. Is just plain BULL ****. My god all the z06 is a wedge with a lite V8. The Z06 design has no creativity it looks like the a 360 and Viper had sex and that was the baby. The Zo6 is only good on prefect track condition, how practicale is that. The Z06 is RWD, there for has less traction. Less weight less traction. No very much technology advancement. Not everything is power to wieght , but rather how much power can put through a corner with out breaking the tries loose. THe Gtr like turbo is the total package, along with Superleggra.
Actually plenty of legitimate posters have pictures of their car, homes and offices on here, just look. Some even have invitations to BBQ's and partys at their homes. Has anyone in the UK even met ZO7, if he's as knowledgable as he claims to be, someone on here must know him.

To me the Z06 is fast but not great. The design is not that great. My point is that Z06 is old technology and the gtr is new technology. For the most part technology in most cases wins. That is something GM is going to have to realize.
I like both cars and competition makes cars better for most consumers (not snobs). Porsche has sat on its haunches too long. The dichotomy of it's CGT, 911, and Cayman lines show that well enough. They just don't make the best car they can anymore. And the old guard marque snobs haven't realized or can't live with that. If I were them, I'd be mad too, because it get's outdone/equalled by a car half the price! Even if the GTR falls a little short, I think it's a triumph for Nissan. It's a technological marvel, albeit it's not that easy on the eyes.
Yeah the Nissan is ugly. Though, if the 911 were never a fast car, it would be ugly too. Face it, the 911 is a toad. But I DO like it. In fact I love it!
Whatever the case, in the short term I doubt very much anyone who's in the market for a 997tt would opt out for a 80k Nissan product. That may change in time with "image".
For a "racer" I don't see how anyone can dismiss the GTR.

BTW something tells me you are clueless about being a "racer", maybe tokyo street drift racer but that's about it.
The GTR is anything but a racer, so what it turns decent lap times, its still 3800 lbs and humongous, Porsche doesn't have to be worried about anything, because they proved themselves time and time again, and have recurring customers and new ones by the millions, for the sheer fact that it's a drivers machine!
It doesn't have to have underrated hp by the load, or 650 n the turbo to keep up with competitors, it's not what PORSCHE brand is about, there so much more to a sports car then power!
