Tubi installed yesterday
+1 I watched my service technican take mine off and I saw no shims anywhere.
Didn't notice any shims when they had the 997 rear bumber off, but when I had the nose off my 996 there were a few shims. I did find a bolt completely loose and causing a rattle, this was definitely related to bumber removal.
The point is not wether there are shims or not, whenever body panels are removed there is an increased chance of rattles etc. It all depends upon the tech doing the work, some are more concientious than others. Remember nobody cares about the car as much as you do.

You're all right, actually only about 1 in 10 cars ever get shimmed on the line. Only if the body junctions are out of wack. The car I mentioned was a 997s, but my c4s had three on one side and two on the other on the rear bumper. But who really gives a crap, I was only pointing out that the job is easily done with the bumper in place, and I know removing the bumper is a major drawback to a lot of guys contemplating this mod, just trying to ease their minds. Whether you do it yourself or pay somebody, it's a three hour job, at least in my hands. If you want to take your car apart, or pay somebody to, go ahead.
Peace out.
Peace out.
