Mileage IN/OUT Doesnt match service invoice
I can't believe so many of you are taking the dealer's side on this.
The OUT mileage on the invoice should always be dead on, or JUST under (shuffled cars in underground?) the actual mileage when you get the car.
If the road test was required for what they were doing (its actually not that absurd to road test a car for an O2 sensor, however,) any road tests should be logged.
It has nothing to do with it being a 911 turbo. It has to do with it being your car, not theirs, they're not to drive it 0.1miles further than necessary. A lot of you have a relationship with your mechanic/dealer, and i think that's a really positive thing, i'd let my mechanic borrow my car too if he asked me to. However, even if it was him who started booting my car around without my permission, i wouldn't be happy.

15 miles in that area town is only thing that would concern me. 15miles will take you in St. Pete, all of which the roads are completely trashed:
a.) to ghetto, hell 4miles will do that haha
b.) to the highway..less than mile away (12miles on highway from there could be to Skyway bridge and back
)
c.) to Tyrone square mall (worst roads in the world, young idiot drivers)
All in all the area is only thing that would bother me. 15miles from Bert Smith in a highly condensed city is a little excessive. If nothing is damaged on the car, I would do as you have done...switch dealerships and move on.

In any business, the documentation should be exact. So yes, 5 missing miles should be a problem. If the out milage was exact, then I wouldn't care if it took 50 miles as long as it was written. The devil is in the details.
What if you are buying a house and they quoted 6.99% APR and gave you 9.99%? What if you are staying at the hotel and gave you double beds when you asked for single king? What if you ordered well done steak and they gave you rare? Now some might not care for the difference of last two but I am sure everyone would care for the first example. But all three share a same principles.
Like I said, the documentation should be exact on any business. So it is best for dealers to make sure of that. It is also a good customer practice to give them what they expect.

Porsche called me back telling me that they need to take for a test drive so make sure the light won't comeback on...But they never explained to me about the 5. Miles that weren't recorded.
I agree with the OP. There is absolutely no reason for anyone at any dealership to drive anyones vehicle without calling and asking if the owner wishes to allow the dealership to do so for technical purposes. If thats a hassle, have the owner sign a waiver stating he allows a reasonable test drive and define reasonable before accepting to work on that vehicle.
I took my BMW to Knauz BMW in Lake Bluff, Illinois in the summer of 2006 for a new windshield. The car had 47 miles on the odometer. The service manager gave me the smirk w/e pal look and said do what you have to do after I mentioned BMW NA. Needless to say I went home and filed a compliant with BMW NA, I received an apology letter a few weeks later. I've never been back to that dealer since. Bought another BMW as well since then - of course not from them.
47 miles is ridiclious. That's more then twice the distance from the dealer to my house and back.
Another example, I was at another dealership with a friend a few days ago. Also a BMW dealer, I saw a modded (drop, wheels, exhaust, and racing seats) E46 M3 get pounded on for about 15 minutes in the back of the dealership on a small road that connects it to the neighboring Mercedes dealer. The tech parked it in the lot and left after his little short lived round of fun, there was also no plastic on the seats or any paper on the carpets. Guy had on greasy work pants and work boots. Give me a break, we pay 10x more for our vehicles only to get service comparable to Chevy and Ford.

Don't take it out of context. Read the whole thing. I was making a point, but you didn't get it. I was being sarcastic.
While I agree that they should be meticulous with their documentation, calling Porsche will not solve anything. They are completely useless when it comes to problems with dealerships. If you want customer service, buy a Lexus.
Deal with it. Every type of sales institution has to deal with picky customers. Especially when it is a high-end item like a Porsche with +$100 per hour service charges.
I don't care if a customer is giving you a list of demands, it does not give you the right to damage their car. Please post your dealership so we all can stay away.

rolling joints, sniffing coke or whatever. A lot of tech guys do drugs especially in CA and no one is really trust worthy at the dealership.
I feel your pain.[/quote]
LOL... funny comment... i personally know people working at fletcher jones MB dealer in So. Cali. All these "techs" goof around and go for joy ride and have some fun taking out customer's car during lunch time to go pick up some Jack in the Box...

Let me guess, if they come across a CL65 how do you think they will drive it?
I ve known the head TT mechanic for years.
He could take my car for the weekend if he asked me.
If I didn't trust him my car wouldnt go there.
To me its not a big deal.
I dont even check the miles in and out.
