997tt joy
997tt joy
I'm having a discussion in my home about how attached I have become with my car. After modding it and thinking about the interior I find myself thiinking about this car so much.
I thought about how I may feel one day when I sell it . The idea of someone buying my car after I have cared for it and pampered it so much somehow stirred other thoughts.
What if they were not as caring with this car ? The image of someone smoking in my car sent chills down my spine . Ok but it woudn't be my car anymore or is it in some way ?
Am I somewhat emotionally connected to this car in such a way that I would hope that the next person cherished it in a similar way ?
Anyone else feel this way ? Or is it "pump and dump" the 997tt?

You know its kind of like the michelin tire commercial when the michelin man is hugging the tire as it come off the assembly line and there are tears in his eyes when he is letting it go but then he turns around there comes his next love.
Larry, I truly sympathize with your plight. I've become attached to my 997TT in such a way that most folks couldn't even begin to understand. I've spent much of my lifetime fantasizing about one day finally owning a Turbo and that day has come. A dream fully realized at the tender young age of 32 (now 33 going on 34). I've spent hours and hours thinking about her, modding her to my tastes, etc. I don't spend my time thinking about the next prospective owner, but rather I spend my time thinking about how I want to enjoy the Turbo for myself.
Can you tell I like my car?
Bottom line is, you're not alone, buddy....that's why we come here too. To share our passion with other Porsche owners too.

That about sums it up for me.

It really depends on the character of the driver, for eg, my mum, has been driving her Merz W140 S-class 320 since 1992.. still good condition.. over 500k km.. she dislike driving other cars which i find it weird at times. And trust me, she aint scraping it. I respect her decision though. It's like having a pet dog.. there are feelings and a sense of attachment overtime.. Others may be better, but the satisfaction from donning up this car will never be the same on the next one.
Btw, great looking car. .i like the bumper with the air-vent? Oem gt2 or from techart?

It's the Techart Type 1. The vents are also Techart (carbon fiber as opposed to matte) along with the mirror inserts . The roof spoiler I did not opt for carbon as I liked the painted part better on my car .
