R&T: GT-R vs ZO6 vs 911
If I could buy one for MSRP (BIG if), I would consider it as a tracktoy. I personally think it's an ugly car, but the bang-for-buck and lack of Vette stigma are big pluses.
One issue that I haven't seen discussed is driver selection. Sounded like they had a GT-R (former) test driver doing the GT-R hot laps. Who drive the 911?

have you seen the GT-R in person yet? if not. Lets see what you think of it after you have seen it.
I've seen a silver one in person. Size and wheelbase-wise, it reminds me of a fixed up G37 coupe. Not bad, but definitely not a dream car.
right cant the GT2 actaully outperform the Carrera GT? in some cases
yeah the wrath of Heavychevy will come down on us all
i know when i saw the first photos of the GT-R when they did away with the prototypes front end is when the looks became very questionable to me. IMO the only part of the car thats not attractive is the front bumper lacking the air ducts, tears, or whatever they are called under the headlights like the Proto had.
They balanced out the long length of the headlights so the front end looked really nice. i think black is the color that makes the Front end not so unattractive
im sure there will be an aftermarket front end like the protos. or maybe nissan is saving that front end for the Spec V.
cool. looking forward to seeing your write-up/review.
I was actually wrong, the US Spec cars are not making as much HP as they were overseas. I would say the GT-R in US Spec is making around 480-490 crank HP. From the dynos from the UK and Japan, it was making around 550 but I guess they modified something for the US.

According to Wiki, he is the all time winningest driver in IMSA GTS history, so I think he is qualified. While he has driven Nissan's in IMSA, he has also driven Ford's and worked for Honda on occasion, so I certainly wouldn't call him a Nissan only test driver/employee.

Very true, but only in brand image. It use to be true for both brand image AND performance. Not anymore, that is why there is so much denial about GTR's performance in the past couple of months.
Bottom line, you are comparing an 70k car to a 135k car and the Nissan happens to be the better bang for the buck. There are several owners of the Porsche that bought one knowing that a ZO6/Viper is faster, but that hasn't stopped you guys from purchasing one. The proof is in the tests. They are different cars for different people. Live with it and stop *****ing and making EXCUSES!!
