That guy drove the ZO6 like a bafoon, I definitely would not loan him a car to drive.
Grinding 2nd, and missing 3rd.

he ground 2nd when he wasn't racing as well. Someone mentioned that the car needs to warm up but it was warmed up more than we see. They were out there filming for a bit and getting things up and running before they took the first video so I am sure the car was warmed up. The 2nd gear grind seemed to be consistent.

No disrespecting the GT2, but that guy was not driving the two cars equally. He was practically power shifting the Porsche, while driving the Z06 as if he had just learned to operate a MT hours before the video shoot.

The Z06 seemed slow. It should make around 8 seconds to 100.

Even a better driver on a Z06 will not beat the GT2. But then again, the GT2 costs twice as much...

The GT2 will not eat the Z06 alive like that. The guy has no clue how to drive the car. Get Ranger from the Vette forum driving and I wouldn't be surprised if the Z06 might even slightly edge out the GT2.

I agree. I think of what we are seeing is technology. Kind of like to incredible 0-60 and 0-100 times for the GT-R, we're seeing a computer's assist system out launch an moderately skilled driver.

I agree, but I dont think it was intentional. I dont know many people who can drive opposite their usual drive side as well as their natural side. Vette gears have more throw in them anyways, always have.

That's rediculous, getting a guy that has hundreds of passes in a C6Z and thousands in Z's in general vs a mag editor.

Not give ranger 100 passes in the GT2 and then have him drive both and you are on to something.

From that video we can see driver error has an effect on the outcome but the GT2 is clearly faster by any means. The GT2 was pulling during the rev range in 2nd, 3rd, 4th. So slow shifting or virgin Z06 driver won't cause such an effect. I really doubt the Z06 can edge out the GT2 with any driver in this world. Sometimes even the best have to admit it's defeat.

Yes, but you have to agree that was a slooow Z06 from the times they were getting. As you mentioned, some of that may be due to the left hand vs right hand drive issue. Not sure if I'd be able to shift very well in a right-hand drive car.

Well, I think Ranger has done an 11.1 quarter mile in a stock Z06 on stock tires and many other Z06 owners have done similar low 11's. I think it's essentially a driver's race with these two cars but in any real world situation, I would agree that the GT2 will have the edge given the better traction off the line. Regardless, I'd take the GT2 any day over the Z06, or even the ZR1 for that matter.

I am not extremely interested to know the difference between these two cars from a dig. I'm more interested in a race say start from >50mph all the way to gearbox/aerodynamic limit. This is the only way to show a car's true potential with even with minor driver's influence. From those video, it occurred to me the GT2 is definitely faster. We'll all have to wait and see a true video perhaps from a owner who has both the Z06 and GT2.

PS. which part of town are you from?

Yeah, I'll have to agree that the GT2 did appear way faster, even when taking into account the lousy shifting in the Z06 as well as the probable GT2 advantage from a dig (when he let the Z06 go first). I can't explain the huge difference because I don't think there would be that much of a difference real world with 2 cars that are running well.

I'm in London, not far from you.
