TPMS error?
I run 33 up front and 39 in rear, stock tires and wheels. The manual for my 2007 Turbo says a wireless device can sometimes interfere with the TPMS. I have a bluetooth headset that I sometimes use with my cell phone and once I got warning lights re TPMS inactive. I shut off the bluetooth headset and reset TPMS, drove around a while and then light went off. From my research on this issue, this TPMS is not perfect and most owners live with this annoyance. I would like to turn the whole TPMS off since I check my tire pressure with a gauge every weekend. Is it possible to turn off completely or are we stuck with this unpredictable system?

Oh man. I just started having this problem -4 on the two front tires everytime I start the car. All pressures were dead on the last night when I checked them. Temps in the 70's, stock size tires. Very annoying....
** Must be performed 1st thing in morning, after car has sat over night for "cold" pressure measurements."
1) Put key in and see what TPMS reads each tire pressure at then record on paper; then remove key.
2) Compare tire pressure reading from hand gauge ( this is what I use and mine is usually 1 PSI off TPMS reading) to determine how much gauge is off from TPMS. (example: -2 PSI difference or etc...)
3) Inflate all tires to desired pressures, taking reading from handheld gauge and factoring in difference to TPMS and inflate accordingly.
4) Put key in and check TPMS readings. You should be dead on...
I perform this ritual once a month as i have been thorugh too many TPS issues, flats and damaged wheels to care to relive those nightmares.
Regards.
David
Is this covered under CPO ? What is the name of the part or its part number for the tpms reciever. My car is doing the samething, -4 on differnt tires, reset it then all if fine until I turn the car off.
Thanks for any information.

I don't think CPO covers this. You need to find out if it's the receiver (in the fender well) or the sensor/transmitter (in the wheel) - most likely the sensor/transmitter since it is battery powered. How old is your car? Check Suncoast for pricing and search since I just read someone replaced all 4 for $600 or so.
Its not the sensors as they are working and reading once I reset them. Plus used my durametric and they have 2 yrs left of battery life. I think its the sensor reciever ?? It happens everytime I shut off the car...
Learned through the forum that the battery life on the tirepressure sensors is around 5 years. When the battery on any of the sensors weakens, it throws the dreadful "TPS Inactive" code on the on-board computer. Even if you reset it, the system will not "learn" and you will continue to have the red exclamation point and the amber tire pressure warning light on the dashboard.
I took my 2007 Turbo to Wheel Enhancement in Los Angeles and they replaced all 4 sensors with new sensors, Porsche part# 997.606.021.01. They carefully removed the tires, broke the bead and reached in and removed the old sensors and installed the new ones.
Wheel Enhancement is awesome, they made sure that there would be no scratches on the rims and their work was flawless! I dealt with Dave Martin. Not a cheap fix ($600) but well worth it to me since I like to have everything working correctly. After I drove off from their driveway, the computer reset itself and the warning lights went off and I was back in business with the TPMS working perfectly. Wheel Enhancement is a forum sponsor and I give them the thumbs up
ShopTPMS is another sponsor and they have the sensors too.
