Engine jackpoint

Does anybody have a good pic or info on a jackpoint(engine case, rear crossmember) to lift the rear to put on jackstands? Imagine Auto has pics using a block of wood on the 996tt engine case rib to lift. Is this safe?

Yes, you can use the crakcase with a block of wood or bunch of rags. I jack mine at the jack points, than place a small jackstand under the crossmember on either side. Either way works well.

CDOC.com has a neat jack plate made specifically for the 997TT. i saw a photo of it in a magazine but CDOC's website doesn't have a photo. it's lightweight and bolts on without any modifications.

I use a hockey puck on top of my jack to mate against the engine, but the
Surgeon above has the BEST way, jacking points then support with Jack stands.

Is it possible for one of you chaps to post a photo of the exact engine jacking point?.This would be really handy to know.I recently removed both my n/s rims, and used the factory jacking points, and placed axle stands in the appropriate places. Is the engine jacking point the point at which the small brackety thing is located, around the middle of the casing?.Thanks in advance, regards, SIMON.
