Nissan sets new time at the 'Ring with standard GT-R (Official)
I had some interesting conversations last night at a meet about this GTAAAAAAAR.
I heard one of the reasons the car was being marked up so high was the dealers have to pay a certain amount of money to service the car. Something along those lines.
Also heard the car is going to have some gear-box issues and other things like that.
OH well, I think tomorrow we might go to the Nissan dealer and ask about the GTR. Always some funny stories about acquiring for one. Hopefully we can add on.

With all due respect, isn't this GTR thread? Did I create a new thread just for this? Did I attack someone personally? No one is making you view this topic. I like GTR, but I also like TT, along with F430, LP640, ZO6, Ford GT, Viper, NSX, etc.
I trust Jay Leno's view since he drove a lot of cars. I posted the above link because I know most of you would appreciate his fair view. And I also know most of you are curios about GTR, and are looking for more information.
So sit down, relax, and just enjoy these discussion as entrainment. No need to take it so personally. It's only a car.
And for you information, if I were to spend that much money, I would spend just little more and get the 997 GT3. Which is my current favorite car. (Until LF-A comes out.)

Anyways, you are the one that needs to sit back and relax kid. The car is not even here yet. Until then, let's not be magazine racers. For that matter, Jay Leno never said it was better thant the tt either.

BTW what would you know about the LFA anyways? I have quite a bit of inside track on this topic. I'm curious to know how it has become your favorite car besides the GT3. What have you read about it?
Just like all the other GTR fanboys, that seems to be the only form of information on supercars for you guys.Drive it, own it, and then make judgements and claims... IMHO..
The GTR sounds like a great car. I've owned 3 300Z turbo's, and even a tt Toyota for awhile. Easy to mod, very fast (and at times faster), stable, and more bang for the buck.
Still apples and oranges.

Agreed, nothing is prettier than a Porsche. But, it's still overpriced by 30%. The profit margin on a Porsche is ridiculous, especially when you start adding all the options that could total 50K.
Yeah a GTR thread in a tt forum.... Did you miss that part?

1) I didn't start this thread
2) Jay Leno never compared it to TT. And I never said anything about GTR being better than TT. He just said it's great car, and I agree.
3) I fell in love with the LFA's exhaust note. But do you really need a reason to like a certain car? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OB85h...eature=related
Just because someone likes the GTR, it doesn't automatically make him/her fanboy. I like lots of cars.
4) Oh, and just for the record, I am most definitely a "kid" in inside. And I hope to stay that way forever.
Price doesn't have anything to do with it. Because to be honest, price is subjective. $100K has different value to different people. People buy TT, ZO6, or any other cars because it has something THEY love. For some it may be pure speed, for some it may be looks. I am just glad that there are now more choices out there.
What's with personal attack? Do you feel better after you type those words? Do you feel better after posting those smilies?

Crap. I just realized I wasted my 400th posts on you.

I'm curious as to why some people seem to get so extremely defensive and angry when the ol' GTR vs. 911TT topic gets brought up.
Oh, to the people *****ing about "omgahhh, you made a GTR post in the 997 Turbo forum!!!" Just stop...please. Did I see anybiody crying about Fredttx50 posting about his new Cayanne in the GT/GT2/GT3 forum? oh...no, that's right.

The GT-R is going to elicit extreme responses from car enthusiasts. Especially Porsche owners. The GT-R was designed and executed with an echelon benchmark as its measuring status, the 996tt and 997tt! That in itself should be considered respectful flattery... "To be the best, youve got to beat the best...wooooo!"
I have a 996tt and would love to go to a 997tt, but I just cant swing it right now. So I started researching the GT-R. Its execution is very function over form. I think Kudos should be given to Nissan and the accomplishment in creating the GTR.
Ive attached the press links for the GT-R which give details to is engineering and design metrics.( I know a lot of it is marketing fluff, but nonetheless good stuff). Please read it when you get a chance. You still may not like it, but you might come to appreciate what went into creating the GT-R. Please, Im not Trolling! I just wanted to share.

I'm not big on rice cookers, but that one's very fast that's for sure. Porsche is going to have to raise the bar for the standard TT big time. I think that's a good thing, as I feel the performance difference between the new 997TT and the 996TT was NOT a HUGE achievement. The difference between a 964T "965" and a 993TT was stellar, they'll have to make some giant changes once again to get ahead of the competition. The bar has been raised.
