the shakes?

took delivery on 5-5-08
2800 miles so far.
Ever since I first drove the car, it seemed to shake a little at 70mph-85mph.
I was not sure if this was the road or just the way the AWD turbo feels compared to 997s.
Could this be the alignment?
thanks for your input.

My guess would be:
1) wheel/tire not balanced (most likely)
2) wheel mounted slightly off center (not very likely)
3) bent wheel
4) tire out of round

Take it in and have the dealer look at it. I am new to Porsche but on other low-profile tire performance cars getting the tires balanced perfectly can be a b*tch. The Hunter Road Force balancer is a nice for tough vibration issues.

I had the similar problem when i took delivery of my 08 Cab. Three of the four tires were not balanced properly at the factory. Also, my steering wheel wasnt straight, or put another way, the car was tracking to the left when the wheel was held straight. The steering wheel sensor had to be adjusted.

All taken care of within hours at the dealer.

thanks for your feed back!!
I just got off the phone with the service dept and they said exactly what you did regarding the potential problem!
Right on...

could be the balancing or if I let it sit for a while (which I did not, the rubber could be off a little).

Strange thing, I put up with it for so long (2800 miles) because I really don't want to be a day without the car. i drive it every day and i was not looking forward to having it in the shop. But, i guess I will have to part with the 997 TT for a day or so.
thanks again...

Have the front tires rebalanced. Mine did the same thing, rebalanced by the dealer and no problems since.
