Anyone ever drive nowhere ?
I am beginning to view 997tt sightings in a new light .In the past if I saw another 997tt on the road I looked at the car and figured the person was driving from work or to a social thing. But now -- I know better .
There's a good chance he's driving NOWHERE.

hi, my name is (insert name here) <INSERT here name>and I'm a nowhere driver.
Ok, so I'm not a tt owner but I linked to this from a post I made elsewhere about my 20 mile starbucks drive with my 997 c4s. I own a daily driver commuter plus the c4s - I guess I can admit within the safety of my fellow freaks here that in addition to my sudden and frequent need for caffeine from the furthest starbucks I can find, I too am a nowhere driver.
Given how good a DD a p-car is, I debated almost giving up my mundane beater but now I'm glad I didn't. Switching after I've driven my normal beater is a blast.

I am guilty of being a nowhere driver,
For my favorite I would say a Sunday early morning drive, I take I-75 up to the next city where I have mapped an outstanding drive, a mix of curvy roads w/ some straights.
Can't beat the feeling of driving on an empty interstate in the moment of dawn, not a single soul on the interstate and the dissipating fog makes the drive a lot more spiritual. (caution watch out for critters)
I also just love taking her out for a spin on a Saturday evening, a little while after the sun has set and everything cooled down. This car is truly something amazing, I either get a thumbs up/nod / wink at every stop I make.
I have to admit sometimes it gets annoying, like last week I was gassing up and a married couple come up to me and start asking me all the questions about the car, and believe me I am all ok with that, but shortly it started getting personal, questions like; what do you do? how do you do it? can we go for a spin? would you like to invest in our business? /sorry for the rant

I only drive the tt on the weekends because of my business & usually have nothing to do on the weekends ,no kids.So i love to just go nowhere especially on Sun mornings there's a long running radio show in Socal called Breakfast with the Beatles ,i just turn on the radio i try to find "A long and winding road" to nowhere.

I just hit 33,000 miles last night, got back from work and decided to meet up with a friend in the city because I needed an excuse to drive.
I don't know if I am the only one who looks at my car sitting in my garage and just feels like driving it . No destination . Just feel like driving it.
Sometimes I come home after only 5 minutes content. Other times I need more time and on rare occasions like to take apassenger but usually prefer to be alone with my car in those moments of driving bliss .
My favorite time ro drive seems to be in the late evening as the hot sun is cooler and visibility is still great . I also love the very early winter cold morning of crisp weather (if I am awake) .
I don;t like the rain or traffic or night but of the three if I had to choose one I might opt for traffic . As I sit there going nowhere on my drive to nowhere I do get to look at the other cars and then I appreciate mine even more .
Anyone else go though this? If so and you have a story ..here's the thread . BTW for those who have more than one car have you ever driven the other car and come home wanting to drive the 997tt even more ?

I do it frequently. I live in the land of Microsoft, but a five min. drive in the opposite direction, you're in the land of cows, horses, farms, and great roads! I love to drop the top and have fun driving.
It's been a year since I wrote this thread . During the last year I placed 3K miles on my car and 1500 of them were nowhere drives . The other 1500 had destinations but were a) leisure or b) to service to get more mods-- to drive nowhere .
I don't want to drive the car with a task . I could never park it at a mall or amovie threatre . On the rare trip to the supermarket I park far away , next to a bank , where cameras watch my car -- and even then I don't like to leave it .
The idea that someone would spend so much time and money to have this machine loaded up with equipment on the cutting edge to go nowhere is what I wanted .
It's car with no responsibilities created with thought, teamwork , sucesss , and challenges . It's an expression of what I feel might seem wasteful by some yet is so valued by me because it creates a lifetime memory and i can see it , drive it , improve it , and with each interraction it brings me more in touch with my own feelings .
To me it's more than driving bliss . It's my way of validating this time period in my life by doing something for myself when so often I do things for others .
And yes --I will drive it nowhere --often.
