The aricle points at 2010 as a speclative arrival of these cars . If that's the case then the facelift 09 cars face a two year run .
My guess is --
1) If the Turbo gets a facelft it will even more brief .
I think our cars might be the last of a very special engine type and if the car evolves to suit fiel economy, cost savings , and emissions -- I think our cars may actually repeat the retention of value seen in cars like the 993tt and CGT --where time only has folks growing more fond of the car .
Lately one can find that the used Turbo market shows a much greater depreciation than what I think may happen in years to come with our cars .
I'm keeping my miles low ... pampering my car . With so much hype directed at topics like the down economy, cost cutting, emissions, and the competition cars like the GtR I think the current used Turbo pricing makes the car a modern day bargain .

The exterior camouflage may change . It usually does and the final product is often beautiful . What concerns me is that a projected arrival of the car is so soon and it almost makes any facelift seem dated before it even arrives .
Add to that the enormous evolution of the car (ie the three muffler exhaust on a 997 , The PDK, etc ) we have more of a car with this dry sump engine .
Porsche returned to a traditional look with the 997 line and kept the car simple . It sold well . That means a lot in terms of desireability , not just now .. but in future years .
The current used price does not show that but I think it will change to the upside with time.

Speed --the 09 prices were discussed on the 997 forum . https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ighlight=price
Notice that base price appears acceptable but the options get expensive . It's for that reason I even posted that a used 997tt would be what i feel is the best choice over a new 997 .
2010 is too hard to figure .

That's an obvious test mule, could be GT2/3 or something else, with a modded 997 body shell. That's common for PAG to mule it out like that, fools everyone, at least for a short while. And in one of the shots, my eye sees the wheels not quite centered where they should be, a glaring tell-all that body and chassis are not meant to be together.
I am glad that porsche 911s are evolutionary rather revolutionary. Which means our 08 tts will stay "in style" for a long long time. I don't like the spoiler on this one, otherwise unless they increase to 600hp+ at the crank, these pictures are a "yawn" for me.
Remember the base Carreras are released a year or so before the turbo, so while 2010 might be right for the base Carrera, 2012 is reasonable to expect for the turbo.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the 997 turbo lineup end with an S version next year, however.
