Are 20" Wheels Too Largeż?
Now we are into bicycle tires!!!
SNS,
Don't drive yourself crazy. A 19" wheel will have no effect upon your chassis! Start looking at good wheels.
The car came stock with 19's so i retained that size when I found a competition wheel I liked . I have yet to track my car but I want it to be ready if the day comes when I am ready .
Like yourself --peformance was a priority .
okay 19" wheel it is! done. BUT my last question (famous last words):
Which brand offers the best STRENGTH to (lightest)weight ratio? Are certain designs that appear beefier stronger? Or is the actual mass of material between one style and another the same; ie they are using the same amount of aluminum across various styles hence they are the same weight/strength??????

yeah you'll have issues with handling, ride, and obviously tire cost. But that's rephrasing what everyone else already said, so heres somthing new: what about the extra unsprung weight, that will bog the car down a bit.

Weights (front/rear)
Champion RS171 20.17/24.36
HRE P43 21.8/25
HRE 893R/593R 20.3/24.9 (I can't remember which one of these is correct)
The 893R's, 593R's and P43's all have the same spoke design. The P43's are monoblocks and the 893's (hidden fasteners) and 593's (exposed fasteners) have a lip. I believe the HRE and Champion Monoblock wheels have similar strengths. There are a couple of other really nice choices like the PES GP7's out there too.

I had several 19" and 20" in the TT.
-The handling is better with 19" period
-For looks 20" obviously
I find a way to keep very good performance with 20",buy the new Michelin CUP 20" tires
315 25 20 rear 245 30 20 front threadware 80 only 2 sizes available. For the rear use a 11.5" wheel like Champion I have HRE mono and they are 12" the wheel is to wide for the 315 but they work and look ok.

Or stay with 19's and go with the PS Cups 235/35-19 front and 325/30-19 rear. This is the GT2 set-up with the same tires.
These are an 80 wear index but will grab like magnets.
For these you can go with 9" front rims and 12" rear rims.
Don't plan on using them in the rain, however!
It's what I am putting on my 360 as soon as my wheels get here in a week or so.
Luis, the front spring change still working well?

There is some discussion here about different spring pressures. The W/S manual shows about 480 lbs but one other measured his at 330 lbs! So, this is crazy, and I want to be sure.
Strangely, the 360 and 430 shocks are identical and so are the springs!
So to be sure I am removing the two fronts, sending them to Colin at http://www.swiftsprings.com/products...r_springs.html (he's the spring wizard) to actually check them.
If the AFCO's prove to be too much, I get them from Colin that give me about that 10% increase.
I will let you know.
Good to hear from you.

Just want to point this out. I went to a 325/25-20 from the stocker and my 20's with tires are 2 pound less in weight then the stock tires and wheels. Also the rear rims is a 1in wider too.. I not say that 20's are better cause I agree with everybody here, that they are more looks then performance. I just want to let other know that it is possible to have a 20in wheel that weigh the same or less, though it might be farther away from the center of the wheel(which is bad)..
