buying advice

i have an 09 on order - c4s - $106msrp - price is $96 ..... or....i can pick up an 07 911tt with 12k on it for about 109k.....which do you think has a better resale value - or is the better option? ( the price on the tt looks pretty good....but - is the 09 a significant enough change that i should wait for it?)

yes - i want awd - it snows a lot here...

also - what would be a good target price for the tt?

I'd stick with the C4S at that price if your getting the new PDK.

If it hasn't been abused, TT...superior engine, superior performance, will hold value longer, and is the last of the GT1s.

On the 997 forum a C4S had an MSRP with options of 136K and the 104K car might lack some options which that Turbo may have in addition to the extra 100 Hp GT1 dry sump engine .

Hands down I would pick a Turbo over the C4S however the 12K miles sound high . Once a Porsche (especially Turbo crosses 10K miles it takes a bigh hit ).

A nice 07 Turbo in the 110K range wth 5K miles or so would be the ideal choice IMO.

Resale --goes to the Turbo . It's a used car which already has depreciation absorbed.

I would go for the TT and I'm sure you can find something with less mileage for the same price just keep looking

Had a 997 C2S before getting the TT. No question, I would recommend the TT.

drive the turbo, your question will be answered. No way I would get a wet sump pos over a gt1 turbo at that price point.

An 07 TT just went on ebay for 105k or so, had only 4k miles. Just an FYI. You can do better on price for those miles. 12k is high for a TT.

TT all the way. I almost got a new c4s, but the price was within 10k of a tt. They are not even on the same planet. FWIW, you can do waaay better on the price. Mine has 27k miles, lovin' it daily!

Unfortunately, I've had both this year. Dumb mistake getting the C4S when I really wanted the TT. There is such a huge difference between the two that I believe you'd be making a mistake by not picking up a Turbo if you can swing it. Get one with adaptive sport seats if possible. You won't regret it.

That's what I did.

I had an order in on a 'well-optioned' C4S (about 106K) and ended up canceling the order and buying a 1 year old 997TT. I am SO glad I did. This car has incredible power, the well-regarded GT1 block engine (which can be easily modded to 600 hp and reasonably modded to 700hp), and many of the options I was going to add on to the C4S already installed.

Great car and a wonderful daily driver (year round).
