"first Ride In A New Gtr"
I was walking my doggies this morning and my neighbor advised me that he just got a new GTR in his dealership and it is ready for sale.
The only option I know it has is a Silver Metallic Paint ($3000). He did say that MSRP was $76 and they are asking $86. He also told me that that is the old price, the new price of MSRP is $79. So it is really only $7000 over MSRP.
No contracts, so he invited me to take it for a ride tomorrow.
Anyone interested, I can get them all info.

I saw one on the road in Florida recently...I have to say...even in person the car is ugly and looks totally cheeseball to me. I thought maybe it was just awful looking in pictures but nope...in person I also don't like it.
It was trying to keep up with a Bentley and the Bentley smoked it all over the road...amazing to watch from my boat like rental car.

What part of Florida?
What is interesting is I own both those cars now. The Nissan GTR and a Bentley Flying Spur. The Flying Spur is a little slower than the coupe (GT) but still a peppy car. I have to say that even the Speed version of the GT can't keep up with GT-R. I've driven them both, albeit not side by side but they are two very nice cars. Keep in mind that the GT-R is half the price too

Huh? What don't you understand. Bentley speed is over 200k. You might be lucky enough to get a GTR for MSRP but otherwise it won't cost you over mid 90's! What other car has the performance of a GTR for it's price?
The new corvette is going to be close if not maybe a smidge faster but be over 100k STICKER.

I was at Luxury Motors in Chicago this afternoon, they are asking $110 for a GTR - who knows what it will actually sell for. And now that I have finally seen one in the metal, I think it's one of the ugliest cars currently in production.
Why do these GTR discussions continue to permeate throughout so many TT threads? If you are feeling lonely in the GT-R section on this board then please move it to the NAGTROC boards or post in the GT-R section and wait for replies. The cross threading and continued posting of the GT-R is just tiresome.
I do not buy into the hype as I already like the GT-R but all that is left of this dead horse is the hair as the meat has been beaten out of it. So move on to the GT-R threads and create all the excitement you want over there.

Sorry going OT but Neil asked about the new ZR1 ... this is just one pull off the internet so take it for what its worth but all the major mags are showing similar numbers.
DETROIT - The official Corvette ZR1 numbers are in and they're good. Very good:
* $103,300 MSRP (including $850 destination charge)
* EPA-estimated fuel economy of 14 city and 20 highway
* 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds
* 0-100 mph in 7.0 seconds
* Quarter-mile elapsed time of 11.3 seconds at 131 mph
